How popular are your favorite artists on Spotify?

If you use an app like lastfm, statsfm, or any other program to track your plays, list your top 50 most-scrobbled artists, then look up on this chart https://chartmasters.org/most-streamed-artists-ever-on-spotify/ and see whether or not they are in the top 1,000 most-streamed ever on Spotify. Put the place they hold in parentheses or put (-) if they are not in the top 1,000 to see how mainstream your tastes are.

I joined lastfm in May 2018 so it’s not accurate of my whole Spotify career that I’ve been on since 2010 but it’s accurate for recent tastes!

    My top 50:
    1. Taylor Swift (1st)
    2. Powfu (736th) [Surprised he was top 1,000]
    3. Chelsea Cutler (872nd)
    4. Olivia Rodrigo (54th)
    5. Blink-182 (199th)
    6. Spanish Love Songs (-)
    7. The 1975 (217th)
    8. Angels and Airwaves (-) [Surprised Blink-182 is so high but AvA isn’t top 1,000. Tom DeLonge is under-appreciated]
    9. Gracie Abrams (843rd)
    10. Linkin Park (48th)
    11. Halsey (63rd)
    12. Real Friends (-)
    13. Girl in Red (504th)
    14. Flyleaf (-)
    15. Ed Sheeran (5th)
    16. Wyld (-)
    17. Wallows (797th)
    18. Local Natives (-)
    19. KennyHoopla (-)
    20. Beartooth (-)
    21. Janet Suhh (-)
    22. Pierce the Veil (766th)
    23. Brand New (-)
    24. Ryan Caraveo (-)
    25. Amy Shark (-)
    26. Moose Blood (-)
    27. A Day to Remember (660th)
    28. Paramore (215th)
    29. The Used (-)
    30. Badflower (-)
    31. Shawn Mendes (30th)
    32. Petey (-)
    33. State Champs (-)
    34. Kenny Chesney (536th)
    35. Sigrid (-)
    36. Jeremy Zucker (-)
    37. Hot Mulligan (-)
    38. Harry Styles (36th)
    39. AJR (430th)
    40. Pale Waves (-)
    41. Daughter (-)
    42. Boston Manor (-)
    43. Mom Jeans (-)
    44. Arden Jones (-)
    45. Chevelle (-)
    46. Kendrick Lamar (22nd)
    47. Nothing,Nowhere (-)
    48. Yungblud (-)
    49. Thomas Rhett (355th)
    50. Box Car Racer (-)

21/50. So considering my #1 matches the global top 1 I’ll say 50% mainstream, 50% not mainstream. Although some of these shocked me like Powfu, Chelsea Cutler, and Wallows being top 1,000 and Angels and Airwaves not being top 1,000.

Pretty cool idea. My overalls since 2015 generally have at least some that are easy to chart:

    Enter Shikari (-)
    Linkin Park (48)
    blink-182 (199)
    John Williams (418)
    Devin Townsend (-)
    Alan Silvestri (-)
    Haken (-)
    Dream Theater (-)
    Devin Townsend Project (-)
    Henry Jackman (-)
    Randy Newman (-)
    A Day to Remember (654)
    Michael Giacchino (-)
    Panic! at the Disco (114)
    Bring Me the Horizon (238)
    Angels & Airwaves (-)
    Red Hot Chili Peppers (68)
    Goo Goo Dolls (658)
    Michael Jackson (77)
    Fall Out Boy (111)
    Owl City (772)
    Howard Shore (-)
    Coldplay (14)
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard (-)
    The Cure (410)
    Breaking Benjamin (561)
    The Story So Far (-)
    Ludwig Göransson (-)
    Christophe Beck (-)
    Rise Against (512)
    Strapping Young Lad (-)
    Daft Punk (223)
    The Beatles (50)
    Brian Tyler (-)
    The Devin Townsend Band (-)
    System of a Down (185)
    Craig Armstrong (-)
    Tyler Bates (-)
    Akira Senju (-)
    Danny Elfman (-)
    Foo Fighters (195)
    Alan Menken (-)
    Patrick Doyle (-)
    Rush (-)
    Attack Attack! (-)
    David Bowie (316)
    Mark Mothersbaugh (-)
    Porcupine Tree (-)
    The HU (-)
    Flatt & Scruggs (-)

20/50 in the top 1,000 data. More than I expected, but not surprising given the presence of artists like Panic here that I have listened to in years.

Yeah that’s crazy that it’s been 20, 20, and 21. Wild! I listen to a lot of scene music and I knew unless it was the top of the top scene music it wouldn’t be on there.

Also the first 3 Hollywood Undead are still fire to this day IMO
