    i was just wonderin, how do you do transparencies with adobe photoshop? i used that to make this: (my sig)

    oh.. one more question... wut programs do you guys use??? i'm looking for good, free ones i could download

    Well you can either "cut out" the parts of the picture you want to be transparent, or you can just adjust the "opacity" level. Just test different things within Adobe.

    it's easy.

    juss make your background layer (which is probaby white right now) not visible by clicking on the layer. the little eye beside the layer should disappear and a grid should appear as the background of your image. then you can go to FILE > Save for Web and select GIF as the format to save it. when that's selected juss make sure that you check the box that says 'transparent.' as long as that box is checked you pic will have a transparent background and you can play around with the other settings like the number of colors or dithering till you get the pic to the right resolution. in other words, where it's not all pixel-looking.
