How do I use Paintshop Pro 7?

I just downloaded Paintshop Pro 7 so I could learn how to make my own avatar, sig, wallpaper, etc. but I have no idea how to use it (I'm so stupid.) . Can someone give me a few pointers?

Yea, that's what I'm downloadin right now. I dunno how long it'll take, though.

yah. I can blend images. Adjust colour of the entire image...stuff like that

 

Well that's not all that advanced; Have you tried using the "levels" and stuff like that?
