the only reason i really took it into account was the fact that they were a new band that i'd never heard of and it just suddenly appeared at #1 on the aussie charts. also because some weird guy was upside down screaming shutup :chaz: the 2nd time i heard it i realised that i liked the song 2 weeks later - i owned Hybrid Theory, and i loved it
i heard crawling before osc, crawling was one of the songs that got me into rock, i loved osc from the first listen, then a few weeks after crawling,i bought hybrid theory
I heard it one morning and thought it was so awesome. I had never really heard an awesome band like that on the Aussie charts and I got the single and then got HT after I heard Crawling.
Well my brother's in this band (and still is) so his band played One Step Closer for practice and I got to watch them. I didn't like it, I was plugging my ears and saying "It's too loud!" lol. But now I like the song, and i'm sorry for bashing LP like that. I was only 8 years old I think lol. I was an annoying little brat
All I thought was "Wow...This sounds awesome." The sound seemed so different from anything else i've ever heard.
It was probably the song that got me into LP. I must confess though that when they first came out with crawling i didn't like it (i know i was mad) I just wasn't into that kind of music at the time. I am 100% hardcore fan now though and very proud of it
One Step Close... that's a great song (awesome)! First i watched MTV and than i saw Mike and Chester (I think this guys look great) on One Step Closer video. Next day heard Crawlin' and than i bought HT.
I saw One Step Closer like, two days after the video was actually released. The first time I heard it, it was one morning. I heard part of the end, and I didn't see what the song was or the band's name, but the second time around I saw it, I saw the entire video. Right there then I was hooked for some reason. It was something I've wanted to hear for awhile and out of no where it appears in front of me. Soon after I checked out some other tracks and instantly became a fan of their music, buying Hybrid Theory only days after seeing the One Step Closer video .
I loved the song! I actually first heard it at my school...some students played for the school and it was one step closer...then i heard in on mtv a while later then bought the album. p.s. - this is in the wrong forum
I first heard Crawlin and thought....My god, thats pretty damn ####### cool. So I listened to OSC and that was it...by the end of the year after hearing OSC, Crawlin and In The End ( to make sure it wasn't a one off) I got HT!
I was watching tv one day and I saw a commercial for HT and they showed a bit of OSC's video, and I thought it was cool, so I did what i normally do, I downloaded OSC, Points of Authority and Pushing me Away and got hooked so I bought the cd
I heard Crawling first - I was just ...WOW... later Papercut...than OSC...and after that I put Hybrid Theory to my CD player It's one of my favourite songs of all time!
How did I react when I heard "One Step Closer"? I said, "Holy crap" and became a fan when I first heard it.
I heard it distantly (I was in an other room) and tought it sounded not so bad, but when I heard it again, I really liked it .
I actually saw an interview of Chester and Mike on Muchmusic and after the interview they played OSC video, and I thought that they were losers. But after few months I saw In The End and right there I knew that they were the same people from OSC. SO I downloaded In The End, and OSC and I just was amazed so I burned HT and I was more amazed so I bought the cd.
I heard Crawling and In The End before I bought the album. I first heard OSC on the album and thought it was a good song. Kinda weird that someone would want to scream 'shut up' for 30 seconds non-stop. Now I can't stop listening to it. It's an awesome song but Crawling and In The End were what got me into LP.
Well, first I heard OSC and I didn't really care, but when I heard Crawling, I got totally hooked because I coudn't express my emotions and the guys knew what I felt, and now I'm one of their biggest fans, and very damn proud of it!!! LP ROCKS!!!!!! they actually saved my life,so I owe them big time!!!!
