I was actually on the way back from my friend's house and heard the song 'My Turn.' I was pleasantly surprised.
"My Turn" is actually a good song. Can't really say the same about the rest of the album. The video is trippin' balls though.
maybe I've just really grown out of this genre of music... or maybe this album just blows... on or the other.
actually after giving it a few more listens, it doesn't really blow, its just not great. Nothing really stands out. I mean, its not god awful to the point where I would switch the station if it came on the radio, but it's not something I would intentionally go out of my way to listen to.
I've just finished listening to it. It's actually not bad at all, I like it. I still need to give it a couple more listens to be sure, but yeah.
I didn't think they had the ability to play this kind of music after 'The Reason.' But then again, I never listened to their third album (the fact that I don't even know the name of the album should be a clear indication to my loss of interest in the band).
I definitely like it, but I'd agree that besides "My Turn" the other tracks don't really stand out. There's really not much varying one song from another... they all just seem like kind of mellow alternative rock songs. Nothing slower, faster or different from the others. Not that the songs are bad.
After giving this album a few listens, my opinion of it is that it is pretty good and possibly marks the return of Hoobastank but most of the song barely stand out. I've recently watched the clip for "My Turn" and I really loved it and can't wait for the interactive version. Still, I'm enjoying this album but i feel like it could have been better
I havent listened to Hoobastank since "The Reason" and that was a great album to me maybe i should get into them again
Overall conclusion : After a few listens, tt's a good album IMO. I mean, songs are OK, but nothing impressive. The good thing is that they're heavier than in 'Every Man For Himself'. 'I Don't Think I Love You' is my favorite song btw.
They definitely stepped back from the poppy realm, and got back into the mainstream rock realm. I like the album.
Big let down for me. It's a shame, because I kind of grew up listening to Hoobastank. A lot of people hated on their last album, but I think a lot of those songs were way better than this. I really wanted to like it, but most of this album doesn't really do anything for me.
I just realized this album is so much like the other Hoobastank albums. It starts out with a bunch of awesome, attention-grabbing tracks. As the album draws to a close, it's completely lost your attention and you wonder what happened to the last 10-15 minutes of your life. You get back to the first track and you immediately remember that you're listening to Hoobastank and they can be damn catchy.
