    Hello LPA,

So, anywho, last week I just got a job as a video game journalist at a fansite with a rather large following. I was hoping just to get some articles published, but as it turns out...

THEY WANNA SEND ME TO E3!!!

    BUT...

I'm broke. My family just shelled out $1,000 in 2 weeks in car repairs, so they can't help me. I live in PA--E3 is in LA--meaning we'll have to pay airfare out the rear. I need alot of money very quickly. Early estimates from my superiors indicate that I need about $1,000 on me for the five day stay in Los Angeles. Not only that, but I'm using my last $50 to pay my college to move my final in Art History just for the opportunity to go. In order to go, I'll be committing academic suicide by taking the final "normal" test for my class AND the final back-to-back.

So, LPA, if any of you could help me in any way, I would appreciate it ETERNALLY. Any bit of money, little or big, helps me gigantically. I want this so bad you can't even imagine it. Please, LPA, help my dreams come true and send me to E3!

You can reach me at [email protected] I'll give you all the details on where to send.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Peace,
    Alastor

I'm betting this is a scam.

My brother works for Betanews, went to E3 and didn't have to pay a dime because they completely funded his entire trip. So why shouldn't your supervisors fund the trip? If they really want the exclusives they should pay for you.

That's why I have a very hard time believing any of this.

    Agreed with Derek:

    a. You just got the job, why the fuck would they send a newbie [as in new to the job]?
    b. Unnamed fansite, hm.
    c. Scams usually have something to do with school.
    d. E3 isn't for another month, if the fansite was going to send someone, they'd plan months in advanced.
    e. I sneezed while reading this - literally.

I looked at this thread a while ago, and i didn't even read your post before i thought no. You're a newbie. I might even read that post if you have more than say.. 1000 posts. For all we know you could have just joined the forums to try and get money out of us, no offence, but i don't think anyone here is that stupid mate..

    Yeah, it reeks of bullshit.

The fact you have 7 posts really hurts your credibility....plus the fact that journalists get their trips paid for.
