I got together with my band's vocalist last night and we wrote some lyrics for our first song, but we can't decide which title we should use for the song. It's inspired by Funeral for a Friend's Tales Don't Tell Themselves. "This Song Will Cure Cancer One Day" is the working title. "Between the Sea and the Sky" is the title we're not sure we want. If you'd be so kind as to vote on a title, I'd appreciate it a lot. Here are the lyrics: Between the sea and the sky I've got hope on my shoulders But I can't cope with it knowing They're at home and I'm out here Drifting amidst the waves and Finding strength in nothing I convinced myself I'm safe out here Between the sea and the sky Between the sea and the sky Where the anchor can't reach the bottom I barely notice the tide I barely notice the tide As it tries to take me down to the bottom The wind bites at my ears And I can hear the dead as they Call for me to dance with them But I won't give up my life So easily on this night They call for me, I won't answer Between the sea and the sky Between the sea and the sky Where the anchor can't reach the bottom I barely notice the tide I barely notice the tide As it tries to take me down to the bottom I've been out here for far too long Has anyone remembered me since I've been gone? I've made peace with the sea out here Yet somehow it's the sky I'm beginning to fear I can hear thunder on the way And the great god Poseidon will take me away Between the sea and the sky Between the sea and the sky Where the anchor can't reach the bottom I barely notice the tide I barely notice the tide As it tries to take me down to the bottom
I'd go for the second one. There are a bit too many titles like the first one, these days. Or, you know... "One Of These Days (We'll Get Ourselves An Anchor With A Longer Chain)" But I very much like the song!
