So, what do you think is the heaviest song on THP? Before you mock me, I'm listing all songs just because I don't know what exactly to remove. And, I'm including The Summoning with War.
summoning/war is the heaviest song on this album , followed by keys to the kingdom which in my opinion could be a hell lot better without the vague-ly screaming vocals
War is pretty heavy throughout the whole song. But I think A Line in the Sand has the heaviest "peaks".
I would say Keys to the Kingdom followed by The Summoning/War. After that is A Line in the Sand then Rebellion.
See, everyone says War is the heaviest song on the album. And a lot of ways it is. The relentless grungy vocal delivery by Chester. That fast punk rock riff. Robs insane drumming... Yet wheni first. Heard THP and War in the context of the album the song really didn't have much of a punch for me. Especially after a song like GATS. Literally when War suddenly ended and surged into Wastelands that riff tore my face off. Be it its mixing etc. Wastelands just seemed so much heavier to me and even then I wouldn't say it was the heaviest on the album. That goes to A Line In the Sand. When the drums kick in and that guitar riff tears through the speakers. It's a monster! Then Followed by Rebellion - mainly for Darons drop C riffing. And then Keys To the Kingdom - for sheer vocal delivery and drumming of course.
I had to go with ALITS. That song is just a monster. The drumming, guitars, and vocals are all killer. The softer parts by Mike really accentuate them.
Honestly, THP was ridiculously weak in comparison to the heavier sections in their earlier albums, and especially compared with LPU14. More complicated riffs =/= heavier riffs
Well, i see that a bit different, for me GATS and ALITS are one of the heaviest songs they have ever done.
I think the final chorus of KTTK, the solo in GATS, the final of War, the intro of Rebellion, and the solo outro of ALITS all belong to the heaviest LP moments ever. But as an entire song, I'd say QWERTY still holds that place.
If we're talking about the live version then yes. Totally yes. But if we're talking about the studio version on LPU6.... Nah. Given up packs more of a punch. Not saying it isn't heavy (it certainly is) but the live version just sounds so much more brutal to me.
