    He Worked

Looking around he found a job
He was many times robbed of this chance to work
His worth was low to their purse
    Minimum wage Six- Seventy Five
He ryhmed about his life at work
To leave the place where he was at
The Sandwhich store on block twenty-nine
    Address suite number five
He served random people he didn't even know
This was a blow to his ego
He didn't know what to do with himself
    So he just worked

    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
Give me a chance to win today

Made sandwhiches for a line of people from the counter to the door
He stared out it and thought about it
How that door looked so happy
    What about it?
The door had people to commotion with
They were able to afford what he couldn't
He couldn't even afford to eat where he conquered his wrapping skills
Though his rapping skills were polished feeled with mayo, and olives
He knew he should've went to college
Now he's just a minumwage working worker getting paid in worthless change
He goes on his brake, and his wife pages
It enrages him that all she wanted was to know
Did he get a raise on his wages
    This pained him so much
He can't eat lunch, let alone brunch

    [Soft Whispers]
    He worked
    He worked
    He worked
    He worked

    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
Give me a chance to win today

    "What's for dinner hunny?"
    She answered without a hunch
"Nothing did you get that money baby?"
He put his head in hands, and wanted to run from this loaded gun to his head
Bu he phone wasn't full of the type of lead to leave him dead
    He thought of his kid
    His joy in his life
The person he works to keep alive
So he went back to work to earn his worth
To feel the bosses purse with more money to fuel the torch
    His business was their business
And his kindness to work for nothing really was something in his bosses eyes
And before the night was over
Boss pulled him over to side
He thought this was it , he was about to get fired, layed off
And he was tired of being held by the wire
But his boss appreciated him, and his fire
And gave the hard working man a raise
Told him his starving days were over
He would be able to eat his dinner
What a winner he was tonight
He lit the light with his boss and smoked a Marboro Light
They talked all night, about how life sometimes just don't feel so right
But tonight it waspolight and right

    [Soft Whispers]
    He worked
    He worked
    He worked
    He worked

    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
Give me a chance to win today

    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
    Working my life away
For pay not worth the stay
Give me a chance to win today

    [Soft Whispers]
    He worked his worth
    He worked his worth
    He worked his worth
    He worked his worth
