So my friend just took me to a 'rapcore' show the other night and it was freaking amazing. I have never heard anything like this, and i hope it becomes more popular and on the radio soon because lets face it, the radio is getting pretty lame and everyone sounds the same...i searched all over the internet for this video, it is exactly what i am talking about : http://video.yahoo.com/watch/3324756/9339666 ..critical bill are BOMB, that is true music.
The rapper reminds me of Common... Not bad though. Sounds like 99-01 nu-metal, which I never grew out of.
I'm not going to lie, I think some of this stuff is pretty good. Not original, but meh, I'm digging it. Not exactly "Holy hell this is an astounding concept I've yet to seen really hit the mainstream!" unlike our totally-not-a-puppet-that-will-never-make-another-post-here-again friend up there, but solid stuff.
I love rap rock, which is what I call it. It's about the simplest thing to call it, anyway. I think Pillar is my favorite rap rock band, though. Their songs are full of such energy — like early Linkin Park. Thousand Foot Krutch is another good band, though they're slowly moving away from the genre, I think. Kutless, too, and Falling Up... though, to be fair, Falling Up merely have a hip hop vibe to them, and they don't really ever rap. Actually, there are a lot of Christian bands that fall under the rap rock genre. Most of them are brilliant. And, of course, you can't leave out Linkin Park, P.O.D., Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach...
i like pillar, they make good music .. n yeah ya're right bout the christian bands, as strange as this might sound, some of them are really really good .. i totally like papa roach's music .. limp bizkit n p.o.d too of course .. n no need to mention linkin park! you have a good taste in music, man
