What was edited exactly from the post he took down?
I felt that this message was necessary. Looking at it at another perspective, this is basically Mike giving respect to the fanbase yet again, by explaining the intentions behind ATS.
Well said Mike.
Now please come visit Vancouver, Canada. It's been forever.
Wayyytttt... guyyyyzzzz... does zis meen zee album leeked?
I guess I belong to that category.
Well said, very well said.
SUCK ON THAT HATERS
Not that I want to be convinced but this certainly doesn't.
Don´t know if Mike is reading this thread, but perhaps he would like to know that a few friends of mine didn´t like M2M that much without hating it. I told them to check out ATS and i haven´t said anything to "prepare" them.
A few hours later i received the first call, "dude, totally different, but somehow i really like it". It wouldn´t bother me if people don´t like it as long as i do but it is good to hear from friends with a really open mind for art to just appreciate it for what it is - very good music.
And i totally agree with Mike on the review topic (just be able to do it, if you bought it). A few years ago i was really sad to read a lot of bad stuff about things i like but today i doesn´t bother me anymore. It is unfortunately just the way, the Internet goes. I have no problems with people not liking anything as long as they don´t try far too hard too convince people or insult others for liking something. But i don´t really waste my time with them when i realize that a good conversation is impossible.
Best article I've read for who knows how long.
Mike really did a great job on this, I hope it would really do some help to dislikers.
If you don't like the album then you're not a fan of LP, you're just a fan of nu Metal then....anyway well said Mike
I agree to what Ben said.. I don't think, that Mike was trying to own the so called "haters" or something, in my eyes he more so defended them and tried (and succeeded to) express, that theres no need to bash on the people who don't like ATS. Only because they don't like the record doesn't mean they are brainless. Sure there are some people who seem a bit narrow-minded and who are expressing their dislike in wrong ways, but in my eyes especially Mikes blog entry should teach a bit more respect - both sides. The people who dislike the record should accept, that its possible to love it to death, and the other way around, people should stop bashing on the ones that don't like the sound. Its totally unnecessarry to talk about "haters". Just be glad that YOU like the sound, if you happen to do so. Well.. this doesn't include everyone, of course - there are some people who are just hating for the sake of hating, but Mike himself excluded these ones. I don't think his post is about the people who try to bash ATS to no end. It should be okay not to be able to identify with a sound, without being called a "hater".
Mike was chosen to write this because: He's focus on what he truly wants to say. He's not ashame to use his potty mouth but able to say so much. Unlike Chester, who would used his mouth to curse EVERYBODY out! LOL
And either Rob or Phoenix would killed them with kindness while Joe or Brad would just kill! *chuckles* So bravo Mike for being level headed and smashing that final nail in that coffin! Either that or maybe the only sober one that day, LOL! ......kidding.
That was cool to read and all, but it feels just a little redundant somehow. I feel like Shinoda's said all that stuff a few times over already and, now, he's just repeating himself ...
Shinoda been saying all this since the beginning of his life in general!
I dont get it. Some people love the album, some people dont. It's their opinion to hate it and their opinion to love it.
Everyone is talking shit about Meteora and thats apparently fine by everyone, but when someone bashes ATS it's "omg ur so ignorant and shortminded"
Keyword of the day: opinions.
Haters gonna hate the haters.
Some of LP view ATS as their art. Most artist is very sensitive when it comes to their art. It's like dissing their babies and they're just fedup with all of it! *shrugs*
These days especially, Linkin Park shouldn't care about reviews, least of all kids on iTunes who give the new album one star.
Shinoda said it himself in this entry, as I'll quote here:
and, yet, he's been talking about reviews a lot lately. :3
He's just touchy lately. Once tour starts, he'll be alright.
Well, now he's said it he probably couldn't have put it much better.
