American rock icons Linkin Park have just announced plans to lay claim to the German city of Hamburg ... to host a 3-day long special event there for fans, starting from September 19 in the lead-up to their show on September 22. This announcement comes as a tweet featuring a link to a webpage with further details: The webpage explains that September 19-22 will see Hamburg become "Linkin Park City". Prominently featured is this PDF map of the city marked with significant places and dates related to the band's takeover (click for better resolution): Among the things to be seen or attended throughout this period are: Linkin Park stencils and motifs in St. Pauli, Eimsbüttel and Altona on September 19 (day 1), which fans are encouraged to share online; street musicians who will perform Linkin Park songs at "hotspots like the Landungsbrücken" on September 20 (day 2), which fans are encouraged to approach; a drone light show "around Heiligengeistfeld" at 9 PM on the night of September 20 (day 2). The takeover will culminate with a gathering described as "the ultimate Linkin Park fan event". This will take place at Thai Oase, a karaoke bar in the city, on September 21 at 4 PM local time. Tickets to Linkin Park's sold-out Hamburg show are up for grabs, among other "exclusive prizes". There is naturally mention of some karaoke, so fans attending might be wise to prepare for a contest ... Linkin Park's Hamburg concert is, again, on September 22 at Barclays Center. They just keep going and going with the big showdown. I wish I'd win one of those last remaining tickets, but going to Hamburg on a 0.001% gamble is a bit too much But this is so cool, may everyone attending enjoy !
Wow awesome haha! I'll make sure to search for a remainder of this event when I make it there on the 22nd! So hyped for this show and quite proud to be there!!!
If I were the band, I'd make one of those street performers sneak in a performance of a song nobody has heard before-- "It's Linkin Park, you just didn't know it yet!"
i'll be going on a 7 hour train ride from the netherlands to hamburg saturday, but if i'm in the mood after that i'll go check out some of these things. Sounds like fun
Will do! Also, does anyone know where to find the info on when de doors open at the arena? i can't for the life of me find it on the ticketmaster app or website. Edit: nvm i found it. doors open at 18.00 according to the barclays arena website
Didn’t end up going to any events. The train ride broke me lol. But here are some pictures of some spraypaint left on the streets of Hamburg
