From Bungie.net (long read, but worth it if you're intrigued); Awesome. Oh, and according to GamePro, Halo 3 will be pushed back to coincide with the release of the movie in 2007. I don't think that'll happen, but who knows. Source
that's weird, it gives them more time to work on perfecting Halo 3, but I heard originally they were going to release Halo3 the same day the PS3 dropped in hopes to deter sales from Sony, lol, gg Microsoft
They're not even working on Halo 3 right now. Everyone says that they are, but they're not. They're working on another game right now. Don't believe magazines that say they're working on it because they're not. Bungie will tell us when they start working on the game (unless, of course, they already have). I guess the only good thing about this is that Bungie's getting a lot of input. I'm really glad that's going to happen because they're going to make sure it's done right.
im scared.... this game was pretty fun, the butchering of it with a crappy movie and a poor trilogy (third game) could ruin one of their greatest franchises. (halo 3 hats, halo 3 t-shirts, halo dolls, halo plates... imagine the horrific looking products that can eventually be made) -boojitsu
So, you, basically, just said that it's ruined already because the movie and third game are crappy when neither of them have even been made. I mean, honestly. Bungie messed up with Halo 2 and they're not going to do it again. All of those products that you've just mentioned exist already. They're a big part of the Halo franchise.
Rest in Peace, Halo. Killed by a movie and a third game that haven't been made. I will miss the days before you sold out. OMG.

actually if you read the words i said, the exact ones you quoted i said COULD ruin one of the greatest franchieses, not that it HAS ruined... careful on what you're reading. and i didn't know of the plates, dolls, and stuff... that's kinda sad, but in all hoensty, expected of a popular game. im just saying it'll be sad if everything goes down the hole because they wanted some kewl flashy stuff instead of actual interesting gameplay, movie, etc. sorry if i didnt make the idea clear enough in my first post. -boojitsu
Bill Gates has already said Bungie's working on Halo 3.
I don't care what he has to say. Until I hear it from Bungie, I won't believe it. I've been a fan of their games since Gnop! and I haven't believed anything said about them unless it was from them. That's just how I've been.

That's just how I've been.
I read the Weekly What's Updates on Bungie.net every week and they keep saying they're working on an unnamed project but they keep subtley (sp?) alluding to the next installation of Halo. They're playing coy to get everyone's interest peaked. I consider Bill Gates is credible source, though. But believe what you wish. Bungie may have messed up Halo 2 from a Campaign Mode view, but the online multiplayer play quality was increased dramatically, quite possibly making it one of the most fun online multiplayer games of all-time. I've been playing it for 8 months and I'm still not bored of it.

That's just how I've been.
I've been a fan of Bungie since the early days, too (Myth is still an amazing game, I'm not going to lie to impress you and say that I've played Gnop! too, but I've played a number of Bungie's older games), and I trust what Bungie says... but why does that make Bill Gates any less credible? I would say the man the owns the company has a tid bit of say in whether or not the game is being made. Just because Bungie won't officially state it doesn't mean it's not being made. That's just my thoughts on the matter, though.
I'd like to take this moment that Bill Gates is not the "true spokesman" of Bungie and the Xbox Community. Bungie is owned by Pete Parsons whos boss is J. Allard. So, anything Bill Gates says about "Halo 3" is just him trying to get people to buy Xbox 360.
I'm not sure where you've got your information, but Microsoft has owned Bungie for quite a while. If I remember correctly, Pete Parsons is still with the studio as a manager of projects or something, but good 'ol Billy Gates has the final say in everything that Bungie does, meaning if Bill tells them to make Halo 3 they pretty much have to. I know a ton of you guys are crazy loyal to Bungie, but just because Bungie hasn't officially confirmed something doesn't mean it's not true. Bungie has hinted numerous times that Halo 3 is in development, and Bill Gates has said for a fact that it's in development. I'm not sure what more you want when the owner of the studio says that something's in development. Bill Gates may not be the "true spokesman" but, like I said, he is the owner and has the final say in pretty much everything.
The thing is, though, that, even if that is true, only half of the Bungie team is working on Halo 3 right now. I remember reading, somewhere, that Bungie had split their team in half. Half of the team would be working on the "unnamed game" (that has nothing to do with Halo) and the other half would be working on Halo 3. However, I haven't heard anything (except from Bill Gates, but that could just be media hype) about Team B starting work on Halo 3. Keep in mind that I don't remember where I read that at. If I'm wrong, don't yell. Please.
No, you're right... Bungie, as with most studios, splits their team in half a lot of times when they want to create a new IP but also want to continue their major franchises.
All right. Now, all that we need to do is, somehow, sneak into Bungie's headquarters and figure out if they're actually working on Halo 3. I just hope that the movie doesn't suck. Bungie had better get 90% of the input into that project or it's going to be awful.
IMO Halo is increadibly overrated, the games aren't even that good. The only reason people will go to see the film is because they played the game,I reckon about less than 10% of people will go and will not have played the game. Thats the only way this film will succeed unless they can somehow create a masterpeice of a film.
