Yeah America makes movies, but they leave out so much things that were in the book. Like the movie "Hearts In Atlantis" that movie was just okay. In fact they left out 2/3 of the story lines in that movie. The book was infinitely better.

On the discussion about Valentine's Day, I agree that it's a lame holiday, but I'm kinda excited for it this year, because it's me and Josh's first one. Plus, my parents agreed to let us hang out, which is awesome. XD

 

I'm tired of people thinking that because I'm half-African American that I MUST listen to rap/hang out in gangs or large crowds of African Americans. I'm my own person dammit. I do not need to have nonsense slang and obscenities thrown at me. It's annoying how they think that because I listen to rock, and do not agree with them that I am somehow disgracing their culture. It's pathetic. Fuck off people. Let me be me. rant over.

 

Say you start doing something where, deep down, you genuinely feel like it's the right thing to do and you feel like you really ought to continue doing it. Only, it also means forsaking the company of pretty much everyone you know in certain aspects of how you live, because they don't think the same way.

Is it worth it?

 

I don't know for sure, because you haven't said of course. Feel free to scream at me if i've got this completely wrong, but it sounds drug related. Or possibly wanting to be with someone that a lot of your friends don't like. Or that you want to join the army... okay I really don't know come to think of it.

You could try and keep it a secret from those who wont understand, if that's possible. As far as i'm concerned though you shouldn't have to. Anyone who's that close to you should be able to work around anything that might be happening in your life.
Do what you want to do, it's your life. Okay, you might end up losing people you care about, and that is always heart breaking. However, you'll probably make new friends doing whatever it is you're doing. People you might end up closer to than those you know now.
You only get one life, and if you don't live it the way you want while you have the chance, you'll only end up regretting it.

 

Yes, it's worth it. Always listen to yourself first, even though that sounds pretty selfish, but if it's that deep inside of you then it's better to stick with it. If people don't get why you're like that, then you can just explain them and if they don't want to understand, fuck them. This is something that you really feel is right, but if you would give it up, would it honestly make you feel happier...?

 

As much as my father upsets me sometimes, he's always told me that you should always do things for yourself first. No one's more important than you are. You'll find out who your true friends are when the ones who are truly your friends stick around.

 

Do what you want to do and not what others want you to do.

 

I agree with Will, and Marj, Dean. If you feel deep down inside that it's right, you need to go with that instinct. It's your choice, your life, and YOU are the most important thing you need to think about. I'm here if you need me, dear.

 

I hate being alone but i hate people even more.

 

Thanks to everyone who replied... it is kind of tricky to think like that 100% of the time but I try. Again, I appreciate the concern.
It's not booze or drugs or sex I'm having problems with. If anyone really wants to know you can pm me or contact me some other way outside of the board, because it's not something I like to talk about publicly, but I wouldn't have a problem with telling you that way let's just say it is something people can have negative perceptions about.

I changed a few letters in my UNT password to JN for no reason in December. Two weekends ago I met a girl named Juliet Nguyen who I think is pretty cute.
