A massive announcement, like a specific slot in the schedule, or did it just randomly happen?

It was during a video selection promotion and Crawling was on the list and it said something like ''having narrowed their new album down to a selection of 32 songs, Linkin Park's new album stated for 2007 is fast becoming one of the most anticipated among rock fans, here are the LA boys rocking back in 2001 to Crawling'' or some shit like that.

Linkin Park and Sum 41 are among the luminaries who have been added to the list of presenters for the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards. The event, which celebrates horror-themed cinema, music and television, will take place Oct. 15 in Los Angeles, and will air Oct. 22 on Fuse. Previously announced presenters include Korn's Jonathan Davis, Fall Out Boy, Slipknot and Rob Zombie, while 30 Seconds to Mars and Avenged Sevenfold are scheduled to perform at the ceremony.

    Correction:

Camp Freddy feat. Chester, Slash, and Joe Satriani. The song is Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin.

*Edit* Chester also sang on Paradise City (Guns N' Roses cover) at this show.

A Interview with Mike And Phoenix At the Chainsaw Awards:

Linkin Park Get Electric On Album

At the Fuse Fangoria Chainsaw Awards over the weekend, Linkin Park's Phoenix and Mike Shinoda said the band's long-awaited next album is taking form. "As of maybe a week and a half, two weeks ago, we went from 30 down to 17-ish, song-wise, and that's an exciting point for us," Phoenix tells AOL Music. "The album is starting to take a little bit more of a shape."
The band credits its experimentalism on this album in large part to producer Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Beastie Boys). "Rick is one of those guys where you can go through any door you want to go through," Shinoda says. "We're trying everything, just messing around with it until it sounds good." Phoenix says that's created an album that will confound expectations of the band. "The thing for me with Rick is that he's open to whatever happens, and I think for us it's created a very different album than what we were expecting." And good luck trying to imagine what that new direction might sound like: "Even different than your new expectations that you just made -- that's how different," Phoenix says.
