...That's it?? Are you freakin kidding me? What kind of professional review is that??
I have a question...
If I wanted to make like a mega post of all the promos/artwork/fonts/logos for ATS, where would I?
Sorry I know it's not news but I have a feeling someone big on LPA would answer this, oh and yes some promos are from Ana's site but no worries I will give major credit.
Either in the A Thousand Suns forum, or in the Artist Studio. If you're not editing the images, maybe just make a thread in the ATS forum.
Oh ok, thank you!
According to hits daily double, the album is projected to sell about 250,000 records based on first day sales.
Linkin park drew some art on the building of AOl music. Could this mean a AOL session coming soon?
Wow. Now that is....much lower than I thought. How much did M2M sell?
Keep in mind its subject to change (for better or worse) since this is only projections off 1st day sales, but I was surprised as well. M2M sold about 625k its first week.
I honestly thought the marketing for The Catalyst was not very good, even with the performance at the VMAs (which was only just 2 days before the release). What I've Done was was more marketable and radio friendly (Not bashing TC - I love it.) Not to mention the fact that many people were "disappointed" after MTM.
I was expecting 200-400k for the first week. It might be on the lower end of my estimate, but hopefully they pull it through for a #1 even with the stubborn, abandoned fans.
this is somethin LP udated on their fb page...something regarding radio on 98.7FM...
Along with the reviews and concert previews and album sale stories, some publications are just doing general feature articles on the band. That includes the LA Times, and I'm pointing this one out because of a couple interesting quotes (or at least I thought so).
Here's the full link from the Sept. 14 edition of the Times:
Note that at the bottom of the first page, there's a way to click on to the second and third pages of the article.
Also note that the author says the interviews took place during the final stages of the mixing/finalizing process.
Now the quotes:
"The last album opened up their fans to knowing that this band wasn't going to make the same album over and over again," said Rubin in a phone interview. "When it came out, the last album really divided the audience, as was expected. We knew they were making a very, very different album … They're going to experiment. They're going to make music that excites them."
"I made my mind up three years ago: I don't want to scream anymore," said Bennington, 34, stepping into the studio after a drive up from home in Orange County, his hair cut close to the scalp. "I think all of us at that point were going, 'If I keep doing this, this is just what I'm going to keep doing for the rest of my life.'"
"When I was 20 years old, I would have told you 'I hate the Beatles. There is no way I will listen to that,'" added Bennington, whose personal model then was the roaring creep show punk-rock of the Misfits. "Now, I would tell you that I love the Beatles, and I didn't figure it out until I was 27: 'Oh. This is what everybody … talks about.' It was weird. It was like all of a sudden I like broccoli. Now I love broccoli."
Does this include the sales on linkinpark.com and the digital sales?
The Catalyst fell down to #2 on rock charts. (fucking Disturbed, hate them)
However, it started it's what? 4th week? at #1 on alternative charts.
