Aside from perhaps the first line of the chorus I think the ones there are pretty bad, or at least inferior to the ones they ended up using.

 

I would change it, the chorus a little I think,
something like,

So I have reason / to erase this fear / to wash these memory clean
And let the floods cross the distance in our lives
Cause I see reason / to fill this hole /to dam the space between
But would it be enough to ignite the truth that underlies
And to secure this new divide
---
which may be way worse than the original

 

I love that part from 1:24-1:27 with the New Divide synths over that drum beat.

That article actually made me slightly angry. Whoever wrote that hasn't got a clue what they're talking about.

 

It just kind of annoyed me how the NME tried to miscontrue what Chester said as him saying that LP are/will be a better live band than Muse, when he only says that they aspire to be as good and is quite respectful to Muse if anything, and in the Clashmusic article the writer is essentially presenting it as an attack on Muse. I never read Clashmusic often so I can't speak for them, but I expect it from the NME as they have a reputation for everything from publishing things out of context to full-on bullshit.

 

Other than the title of that feature, nothing within comes across as LP slating Muse at all. Infact, Chester praises them as one of the best live bands in the world.

 

I never said Chester actually slated them. I pointed out that the quote is presented out of context.

 

^ Yeah. When the title of the article is, "Linkin Park Bashes Muse" or whatever, the rest of the comments will be tinted by that title, so something that may have seemed like a harmless comment is now influenced by what the title was and an uninformed reader may misinterpret it. Poor, poor article.

 

Yeah, I know. I was just making a comment about the article in contrast of the title of it.
