This all started around May 6th I believe. The power port on my laptop wasn't taking a charge. So we decide to take the computer to best buy where it has a warranty. I tell them to just have it directly shipped to my house so we wouldn't have to go in every week and check if it was there. So it's around a month later and it hasn't come. So we go into Best Buy and ask about it. Find out that it has been lost in-transit basically since it was first shipped out. It never reached the warehouse that it was suppose to be fixed at. So ever since we found this out, we've been in Best Buy every week asking them what's going on. It's nearly impossible to get anything accomplished however because every time we go in there we have to talk to someone new and they give us the same information everytime. According to my warranty it says if a your computer can't be fixed then they have to replace it. Well they say it's not their fault so we have to file a claim with UPS. But we can't do that yet until they find out all the information they can which this guy said he would do a week ago and call me when he found out. He hasn't called. We were there yesterday, he wasn't working of course. So now I have to wait till thursday just to talk to this guy (if he's even working) and find out all the information he got (if he even got any). Then, I have to file a claim with UPS and that could take three weeks (which it probably will) to get the money. O and I might not even get a full refund because they don't know what insurance rate they put on it. They didn't ask me anything, they just shippded it out. I mean at first the guy even told me I would have to investigate this in-transit thing when we didn't even lose it. And what am I suppose to do, ''Hey yea Best Buy lost my computer, give me information.'' When I didn't know anything but the brand of the computer. Anyone else think this is completely messed u?
That is indeed a complicated situation. I can't believe that Best Buy would screw that up and not do what they can to fix things up for you. Why can't every god damn business realize that the customer is always right? It doesn't make any god damn sense. I only like Best Buy because of their price. In AZ, they sell their CD's at lower prices than at Sam Goody. Circuit City has the best sales. And if you have a problem like this next time, you might think that it is best to go back to the store you bought it from. Not the best idea. The store just wants money. They sell it to you and hope to never be bothered about the product. They just say they have customer service to look good. I'd have recommended you take it to an electronics professional. Don't go to these stores, find a real professional to fix it. That's what I do. Go to someone who actually specializes in that kinda stuff. It ends out fine, but you just pay a little more. No harm done, satisfaction guaranteed.
Well, in an interesting turn of events, I found a message from Best Buy today on my answering machine. Apparently they just recieved my laptop (about 2 months later) and they want to exchange it for me.
I can.
So can I. This is the 3rd major screw up that I've read about. There's probably hundreds of more stories, but yeah. Future Shop > Best Buy Yes, I know it's they're both owned by the same company, shuddup.
I actually got a better computer out of the deal. I got my new one today and exchanged it no charge. Except I needed to by a new warranty  . O well.
I can.
I meant that they say they will fix things for you when they won't. That's why I said I can't believe it.
Hey Tomi, isn't it ironic that there's a Future Shop RIGHT NEXT TO a Best Buy at Polo Park? And that does suck...but fear not, I screwed Best Buy over a few months ago. I dropped my MP3 player, and a button stopped working...so I just took it in and said "the contact pad must've worn out", and I got a new one for free. Me > Best Buy

Considering Future Shop tries to charge you $79.99 for Apple headphones when they are clearly priced for $49.99 on the Apple Store webpage. At least there you just show them the actual price and they match it. Those prices are Canadian by the way.
