Title is self explanatory, anyone know how I can convert a divx AVI so that it can play on a DVD-R when put into a DVD player that supports those?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    NeroVision Express can do it
    So can DVDSanta

I can't think of any freeware off the top of my head though.

If you want it to play as a DivX file you just need to get a compatible DVD player.

He wants to convert the Divx file though. The software I mentioned can do that.

The DVDSanta crashes in Vista. Like every other program built before vista's release.

OK, well if you want to convert it, go to afterdawn.com and search their forums for how to convert a DivX file to a standard AVI file and burn the image with Nero or something like that.

If your DVD player supports DivX (has the logo) just burn the file onto a disk and you're good.

If not, you're going to have to convert it to a vcd or svcd with a program like tmpgenc and it'll take 2 cds.

Ok, that's what I was thinking, as I think that's what my dad was. Wasn't sure.

He is burning it to a DVD, not CDs. You only need one DVD-R.
