In regards to what? Religion? He was correct in that statement, gay marriage doesn't affect anyone else. It's not a complicated matter at all.
I'm not talking about religion. Tradition is the main key here. Since beginning of marriage as institution people had certain perception of it, and now it's changing, so of course that some are going to feel threatened by it. And btw, I fully support this.
Shouldn't even have to be given permission - as others have said, it doesn't affect anyone else, so why couldn't they just do it to begin with? And I mean that for worldwide.
I agree with this 100%. I don't see what the big deal is, if people want to get married, then let them get married. It seems weird to me that in 2013, this is how humanity all over the world acts about things like this.
same-sex marriages have been around since at least 342 AD. not like they just sprang up overnight in the 1970s or something.
Okay, I'm gonna reply to this again. I fully agree with this post. However, it is pointless to express annoyance at something like this - it's like you are charged for a death penalty, but when the evidence comes that the crime was not your fault, you say: "It's funny how you're letting me go over something I hadn't done in the first place." It makes no sense - be glad for the future, not annoyed at the past. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Exactly. Plus, traditions like that aren't always the best way to live. Most come and go, but some do stay. People are old fashioned and don't agree with change because it's different than how they know things.
It's disappointing and absurd that this is even an issue, but progress is progress and should be celebrated.
