Gameboy is basically competing against PS. and they've come out with this. i havent got the full details yet, but all i've seen from the ad from tv is it comes in colours and it is small.
I've noticed it about a month ago. They're not going to get very far, I don't think. Microsoft and Sony are currently dominating the gaming console market. Sony's got the portable market in the bag practically, as the DS isn't really holding up, I don't think. And now they're trying with the Micro? Nope, I've got my doubts.
Wrong Tomi, Nintendo still has and will own the portable gaming market. The game boy Advanced line has sold more units than the PS2 alone. The Micro is only a limited edition thing, they haven't decided when they are going to stop production, but they said it will only be in production for a few months to a year.
I know it's been out for a while, but that doesn't mean that Nintendo won't dominate the hand held market.
I think Nintendo is trying to get litlle kids to buy Nintendo systems and since theirs alot of litlle kids im pretty sure they are going to dominate
Too small IMO. I mean sure, it may be extremely portable but I wouldn't want to play games on a two inch screen (which is what I think the Micro has, I might be mistaken)
Also you have to remember, the Nintendo handhelds are targetted towards the younger audience, usually. I'm looking at my GBASP right now [which I someone had left at my mom's shop and hasn't claimed it for months, mine now.], and I'm thinking, who in their right mind, my age, would buy this piece of shit? The only way this thing keeps me amused is the casino in Pokemon Ruby.
Alot of my friends likes the GBASP, it has more games and just fun things to play. Plus it is far smaller than the DS or PSP. Nintendo isn't seeking the younger audience anymore, they're seeking every age group.
I think Sony is to blame for that. If it wasn't for them stepping into the handheld market, Nintendo would have nothing to worry about, but now they've got some competition.
The Gameboy Micro doesn't compare to the PSP. Neither does the Nintendo DS. That is, unless you're between the ages of six and twelve (physically and/or mentally). It might sell more than the PS2 and the PSP but that doesn't mean it's better than either of those if you actually think about it.
I agree, now that Sony is in the market, they are giving Nintendo a run for their money, but I still think Nintendo will dominate it. They're like Apple, they always find a way to make it better and get it out sooner. You can't compare the three. They're in seperate leagues of their own. One is small, the other has a widescreen, and the other has two screens. It's a matter of preference, and people prefered and still do prefer the GBA. I'm not a fanboy.
Even if the systems still looked the same, I think the PSP would still be better simply because of the games Sony puts out. Like tomi said before me, Nintendo is has been targetting younger audiences. I'd like to see Nintendo start putting out more games targetted toward older audiances. I think they would be a lot more secessful if they did that.
That's because there has been an increase in mature games lately, somewhere around 17%. Here's why, the population has been growing up and less and less people are playing video games and Sony as well as Microsoft have basically been following their customers as they aged. Nintendo's belief isn't to satisfy one group, but all groups. And chances are, there may be an increase in Mature rated games for Nintendo with the "Revolution".
When wi-fi, Mario Kart, Resident Evil and Burnout Legends are out on DS it will own PSP. And no, the Micro isn't totally pointless. GBA had some genuinely great games and this makes them accessable to a wider audience.
