http://m.tickld.com/x/guy-goes-crazy-after-the-last-game-of-thrones-episode-this-is-the-best-status- Fantastic episode. That was such an intense battle. Too bad I already had Ygritte's death spoiled for me.
Hahahahaha Indeed. The fact that the entire episode is one big battle just makes it more intense, really thought everyone was going to get killed off. Damn it, Ygritte
As much as I hate the overused term "epic", this episode was the definition of it. That battle was so intense, this season is easily my favorite so far. Can't say I really care about Ygritte dying, never really found her a likable character, then again I don't think she's supposed to be. Also, fucking lol at her last words "You know nothing, Jon Snow".
Although this was all kinds of epic, I actually miss the mash-up that is 15 minutes of story time with Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon, and Littlefinger/Sansa, although the first two are vastly more interesting than the latter. Still, this was awesome. Oh, and, apparently 8 is the new 9 in terms of most-shocking episode this season.
But.. Ygritte, Grenn, and Pyp? Bookies aren't happy, but I expect all that fun stuff in the finale. Going to be a busy finale, I guess that's why it's 66 minutes.
Not sure if this is considered a book spoiler, so SPOILER-KINDA WARNING. I found Ygritte's death scene as written in the books, and I thought I'd post it cause it's devastating(ly good): "He found Ygritte sprawled across a path of old snow beneath the Lord Commander's tower, with an arrow between her breasts. The ice crystals had settled over her face, and in the moonlight it looked as though she wore a glittering silver mask. The arrow was black, Jon saw, but it was fletched with white duck feathers. Not mine, he told himself, not one of mine. But he felt as if it were. When he knelt in the snow beside her, her eyes opened. "Jon Snow" she said, very softly. It sounded as though the arrow had found a lung. "Is this a proper castle now? Not just a tower?" "It is" Jon took her hand "Good she whispered. "I wanted t' see one proper castle, before... before I" "You'll see a hundred castles", he promised her. "The battle's done. Maester Aemon will see to you" He touched her hair. "You're kissed by fire, remember? Lucky. It will take more than an arrow to kill you. Aemon will draw it out and patch you up, and we'll get you some milk of the poppy for the pain." She just smiled at that. "D'you remember that cave? We should have stayed in that cave. It told you so." "We'll go back to the cave," He said. " You're not going to die, Ygritte. You're not" "Oh." Ygritte cupped his cheek with her hand. "You know nothing, Jon Snow," she sighed, dying"
What a great episode, so much happened in just a little over an hour. This season has been by far the best to me. They couldn't have picked a better cast, the actors play their roles so perfectly. I feel bad, but I couldn't help but laugh when Arya just left the Hound. Also, Tyrion is such a damn great character. Now I'm sad, we have to wait another year again before a new season. Now I have no weekly show to watch anymore, until The Walking Dead.
Anyone else start thinking that Cersei was going to greet Tyrion at the top of those stairs with a knife? That's how I have been conditioned to think now.
