Gallows - Gold Dust and stuff that'll actually be on their next album

So XFM played the new Gallows track about half an hour ago but I missed it. It'll be available for free download on their Myspace tomorrow though, from 7pm GMT (I know that's about 2pm in Florida if that helps anyone who isn't from here) until the end of the day GMT.

Lags (their guitarist and the member who wrote pretty much all of Orchestra Of Wolves) was also interviewed in Rock Sound and even though I expect practically no one to read this, as well as my lack of a scanner, I'll transcribe it because I'm bored and not tired like that.

Watford punk maestros Gallows have completed demoing material for their second album, but seem intent on building some suspense prior to its release.
"We want to unleash the record rather than put it out bit by bit", guitarist Laurent Barnard told Rock Sound. "We just want it to hit harder than anything else. That's what we lacked with [debut album] 'Orchestra Of Wolves', because it kept getting re-released. When it first came out it was really low-key and passed a lot of people by, then by it's re-release people had already heard it".
The band began writing and demoing the as-yet-untitled album back in March, working at their hometown's Sanctuary Art Of Sound studio, and self-recording their efforts on guitarist Steph Carpenter's mac. They've been working tirelessly ever since.
After thrashing out more than 20 songs before refining the writing process, the recording sessions for their major label debut were put back from August to September. Garth Richardson (aka GGGarth), producer of Biffy Clyro's 'Puzzle', will work with the band on around 13 tracks at London's RAK studios.
"We spoke to two different producers and Garth was really excited about us. Biffy told us he'd been excited about Gallows for a long time - before we were even in the public eye!" Laurent exclaimed. "The Biffy album sounds incredible to us. We want an album that sounds amazing but doesn't sound overly produced".
The guitarist had previously suggested to RS that the band were interested in working with producers closer to their hardcore roots, but, with Warner Bros backing them up, they decided to take what may be their only chance at recording with a big budget - not that that means they'll lose the acerbic nature of their sound.
"We're thinking a lot bigger with this record" said Laurent. "We spoke to Garth and he knows that we don't want to sound like Fall Out Boy. We definitely don't want to go in that direction".
The only previously confirmed song titles for the album remain as the previously reported 'I Dread The Night' and 'Graves'. Laurent was frustratingly cagey about further titles, but gave RS some hints at the record's direction.
"We could have made 'Orchestra Of Wolves Part 2' but we want to be more creative and further our sound" he said. "It's definitely Gallows - it's noisy but it's hard-hitting". He added; "I think this album is going to be a lot better because everyone has put ideas into it, whereas with 'Orchestra Of Wolves' it was mostly just me because everyone else was working at the time. I was like 'Fuck it, I'm just going to quit my job and write and album'."
Having escaped the everyday grimness of the DIY circuit to tour the world, frontman Frank Carter's lyrical focus has changed too. "The last album was quite personal, based around him and the band and stuff - we had songs about getting our merch stolen, songs about Frank visiting the dentist" explained Laurent. "We know more people are going to hear this record, so we're going to make the message bigger. With the current situation in England it's a pretty dire place to be for a lot of people. It's a great place, but at the same time everything is getting more expensive and there's a new teenage knife incident every week. It's a ghastly place at the moment. The current situation around us is influencing Frank's lyrics and the way that we write music as well".
Expect the new album to drop in February.

I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I thought Orchestra Of Wolves was a brilliant punk/hardcore album.

I'm not sure I've heard any original material from Gallows. Don't they have a song on that Maiden tribute album? I can't remember.

About the only thing I know about them is that they're the current "world's loudest band," according to Guinness.
