Who else here has a g-mail account? I got one a few weeks ago at. I've got another six invites to give out, so if anyone else wants an account, PM me with your name and alternate e-mail address and I'll invtie you to join. That's the only way you can get an account.

People can also use this thread to discuss G-Mail or to advertise that they have invites to give out too.

    Gmail kicks ass!

btw, if you want invites, check out http://isnoop.net/gmailomatic.php and see if it has any invites to give out. It's a hit or miss thing, sometimes they have invites, sometimes they don't. But grab one as soon as you can because they go quickly

GMail has 1,000 MB of storage.

I think that's why most people like it.

EDIT: GMail stands for Google Email :p

I want a Gmail account but my only question is: Can users of regular e-mail send you messages or is it limited to Gmail users?

AOL users can email Hotmail members, so I don't see why not.

EDIT: Furthermore, it's kinda pointless for GMail members to only email other GMail members. It's still in beta testing, which means there's only like, 1000 members or something.

not true. Their computer system scans your email for keywords to show related ads to pay for the service. For example, if someone emails you about dogs, the google service will show a couple small text ads about dogs. No person at gmail actually sits down and reads your email

    Agreed. I haven't seen anything.

Glenn, the thing about the reading of the g-mails is that the Google service reads your g-mail for keywords then displays little ads pertianing to the keywords to the right of the g-mail. It doesn't work everytime, though. I sent an e-mail to Will the other night saying "male genital. Penises. Monkey bumsex" and there were no ads to the right!
