That actually would be a sick collab!!!! Also, Till Lindemann would be absolutely amazing. Marilyn Manson would be, too (don't link the By Myself remix that doesn't count). GHOST WOULD BE AMAZING. Imagine Chester screaming over Papa's vocals. Hot damn. They could teach Brad and Phoenix a few things, too. Since the news that Connor Youngblood is officially working with LP got out, are there any other session musicians anyone would like to see with LP? I'm not familiar with any prominent session musicians, so I can't make any actual recommendations. It seems to me that LP could be taking the session route for their new collaborations, unlike what happened in THP.
> Linkin Park actually makes a heavy album > fanbase continues to bitch and ask for another ATS > all signs point to Linkin Park making a calmer, more melodic album > fanbase suggest several heavy metal singers and bands they should collaborate with You guys still amaze me on a regular basis. <3
Well it's not based on what kind of album they're probably making. It's just a personal preference kind of thing!
Conner Youngblood isn't really a session musician, but more an artist in his own right. LP (or maybe just Shinoda, who posted about Youngblood as far back as 2011) clearly dig his vibe and wanted to work with him. The video shows him working on ideas with/for the band. You wouldn't dare call Tom Morello a session player, this is really no different.
I love Ghost, but seriously? That's a collaboration that would never happen, nor would it work at all.
Though I really don't like A7X anymore, that could work. Guilty All the Same already is basically an A7X song.
There are some Mashups of their songs on Youtube, for example : GATS with Welcome To The Family, and W&K with...well, Welcome To The Family... I dig 'em..
Nahh, i prefer Mike rapping the rap in GATS... But seriously, i really liked that with Rakim, nothing to change about it imo.
Well, you know, Rakim wrote that verse. Shinoda's level best writing doesn't even come close to that kind of quality.
Whoever that could add a nice and rich layer of strings. I decline to believe there are actual strings on MTM. Same with the Owen Pallett feature on I'll Be Gone.
I can't attest for Minutes to Midnight, but Owen Pallett's strings are there in I'll Be Gone, they're just brief, and buried in the mix. You can hear them before each chorus starts in the left channel.
They're all over MTM as well, but yeah, as someone who digs any band that uses orchestration well, more strings would be nice.
You can hear strings on "Midnight" during "Leave Out All The Rest", "Shadow", "Hands Held high" and "In Between". They're also used less prominently on "The Little Things Give You Away"
I'm not saying they're not there on either MTM or IBG, it's just to me they are non-existent to a point where they could have easily used sampled strings to achieve a similar effect.
