It's coming out worldwide on the 15th. However, due to timezones it'll release first at midnight local time in New Zealand, 18 hours ahead of the North American east coast for example. My question is when of even if it'll leak? I'm not sure what the standard timeline is in 2024 anymore. I've preordered the vinyl, I've gone to a listening party... so bring it on!
If you wanted to travel to the island of Kiritimati in Kiribati, you would get it 19 hours before the US East Coast

It feels like this is the third Linkin Park album, the album that Minutes to Midnight never was, the album featuring "some of our heaviest stuff yet" (remember that?). The album "Qwerty" was a signpost towards, the album that was "supposed to be" released in 2007 if the band hadn't decided to clear the slate and start experimenting – except it's 2024, Chester has died, the lineup has changed, and certain musical trends from the intervening 17 years have creeped their way in.
This actually a pretty accurate description, or at least I see where it is coming from. That's probably why the album gives me such big nostalgic vibes. There are many moments on FZ that transport me back to the 2005-2008's. I also like that despite the nostalgia factor, the modern production makes the record feel like it was made in 2024. I think Mike described it at some point by saying the album contained both past and futuristic elements. I can personally hear it.
It feels like every day I have a new part of a different FZ song stuck in my head. Insanely catchy album.
One week in. When every single song has a least one moment I'm eagerly looking forward to, I know this record is hitting the mark for me. Also, damn. I'm happy with each chorus on there, and that honestly hasn't been the case for a long time. Part of it is because Emily is simply killing it, consistently.
If this album came out in 2003 instead of Meteora it would have knocked people's socks off. The heavy nu metal sound and catchy chorus, but then the modern production and style on songs like Stained and Good Things Go that would have sounded ahead of the times.
