One thing id love to talk about is the... - Artwork / Graphics Honestly, I am IN LOVE with it. I do like the color choice and the very organic / natural looks of it. It feels very artistic but somehow simple and unpredictable. It does feel fresh and colorful. Cant wait to have a little booklet (?) with more of these inside! I wonder what they used to achieve this. _____________________________________________ The Emptiness Machine The Emptiness Machine captures everything I love about Linkin Park in my opinion. Some say it does feel like they are playing it safe but even if that might be true - thats not necessarily bad. Emily's build up into the chorus gets me everytime. The music video is still funny and sick to me, although these effects remind me so so so hard of New Divide Live version is crazy sick and you can really feel Emily thriving. Thank god for TEM also for giving us these new emotes without it, they wouldnt exist. Emily Emily is a perfect addition to Linkin Park. I love her vocals and singing style and live she is absolutely crushing it. She seems very shy to me actually, I dont know if thats known around the community of Dead Sara or something or maybe I am misinterpreting something or miss some information - but she is very quiet - Which for some reason is quite interesting because damn she can have some energy!!!!! I still have to check out her old songs with Dead Sara, so im not up to date there yet. Colin Colin does an absolute great job and The Emptiness Machines Kit sounds amazing. On The Emptiness Machine, the drums are rather fast or in a more pumping style - steady. I do wonder how he manages on other tracks that maybe are a bit slower or emotional? (Studio wise i mean) Also Id like to mention that i still have to get used to by his way of playing some parts live. Not that its bad but sometimes it throws me off a little bit since some patterns are so embedded into my mind that its hard to not expect those. Alex I'd like to be honest and say I haven't seen too much of Alex - just 2 shows. But so far it seems like he is doing great - havent heard any problem or mistake so I have full trust! Mike & Emily One thing i definitely need to say out loud is how amazing Emily's and Mike's vocals blend in together. They harmonize amazingly. I know Mike knows how to make it work and all but god, so far on TEM or also on live performances like My December, POA and more - their vocals just fit in so well together that it somehow blows my mind a little bit. All in all this is all i have to say for today, probably there is much more in future I'd like to let out, some hype and excitement and more. Can not wait for the new record. I am beyond excited. WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK.
Anyone else kind of have the bridge of TEM stuck in your head? I don't say this as a bad thing but it kind of takes me back to the release of Living Things and listening to IN MY REMAINS. Anyone know if they released an Acapella? I've only found AI versions so far. We do have the instrumental at least.
Mike said From Zero is so short because he wants listeners to have that urge to play it over and over again. I think The Emptiness Machine alone is masterfully structured to emphasize this. There's a real sense of anticipation in Mike's part of the song; you're just waiting for the dam to burst and the moment those crisp guitars kick in the momentum never ends. Emily only gets two choruses and she's so good on them that you just want to hear another one. I know myself I usually need "just one more listen" before moving onto the next song on my drive and the second time is just as satisfying as the first. It's a true ear worm.
And let's not forget the anticipation last week over the band revealing a new vocalist! I find it really hard to imagine that there's another song on the upcoming album that could have been a better choice for that
While I understand Mike's sentiment of wanting an Oops! All Bangers album, we've seen enough unreleased material from all eras that prove the songs that didn't make the cut are often still bangers so like, give us all of them.
Found this sounds pretty "official" / clean to me its not official but the vocal cut using the instrumental is pretty good
Maybe @Minuszerø can elaborate, but there was some merchandise available at the LPU show. I only know this because I tried gifting someone on Reddit my code - it worked for one, but not the other - but the one it didn't work for somehow got to go anyway and bought me a CD and shipped my way for being kind. Kind people still do exist. I have yet to recieve the CD though, but I assume it's just a single and may have the Instrumental on it. I'll report back when I recieve it, unless someone here already has it. Also, there are some high quality art images on the LPU, I guess? I'm loving the art for this cycle and would like to get my hands on some of it for wallpaper purposes or whatever, especially my phone. Still rockin' the Meteora 20 art.
Mike Shinoda SLAMS Jay Gordon over Linkin Park singer leak There's a zine edition of "From Zero" and an LPU-exclusive zine as well. Between those two, you'll probably get what you're looking for
https://www.reddit.com/r/LinkinPark/s/rWv4Zwi6wi Someone was kind enough to share the art images I was speaking of.
I figured you could add them to your original post. Someone in the ATS Era has a thread here of all the art stuff from ATS so maybe this could be somewhat similar.
every day i get more and more excited for the album the 3rd concert was a blast and truly seeing the crowd sing along to the new song is promising, especially for the future. cant wait!
Just watched that one - I don't remember Mike being so pumped about an upcoming album. They've always been proud of their new work, especially at the time of release, but I don't know. Mike seems like a little kid waiting for Christmas It's probably a mix of everything though : being back and able to perform again, having been able to pull the big surprise comeback without a major leak, etc. Nevertheless, that makes me optimistic about "From Zero"!
I do wonder if there's gonna be at least one slower track or a ballad. I get why they are back to an aggressive sound but I do hope they don't discard their softer side either
I was wondering the same thing, but I got a quick response by a few here: Its a LP record, of course there will be a ballad / slow song. At least one.
