I'd be really disappointed if this is it. We all expected abother album but apparently there won't be one. When the website was working, there was new fort minor merchandise. I don't think he would do that and make a whole new website for one song. So who knows
Fans of Fort Minor/Linkin Park will really like this song, fans of hip-hop not so much. It's very pop rap radio fodder. Not terrible though. The synth bridge is really nice.
Where'd You Go was the same thing, but not very indicative of how The Rising Tied sounded. Nothing to really worry about.
True. I was mostly referring to the song itself. I'm sure the album as a whole will be much more interesting. Lead singles always have to have the mass appeal.
He did say that it he never meant to write a fort minor song. He just ended up writing it and he thought it something people needed to hear. So it's very possible there is no album.
Should be pretty much right... Sounds quite Mac Miller [Verse 1] Yeah Welcome Yeah it's been a long minute Let me break it down now if ya'll still with it First time I did it Yeah i'll admit it I kinda hit it and quit it and left ya'll hanging Sang it, kinda off key with a passion Asking, can I give you back that action? Yeah i'm a blast in a hashtag fashion To spell it out for you like a masked closed caption Get a closed casket Fade to black This is my spot then i'll take it back Get at me punk I was made for that Ya'll don't really even know what you aiming at So far back what you waving at? Ya'll can't see the stage that i'm playing at Ya'll hating that But that's why I do it So tell me where the motherfucking haters at? Cause [Chorus] I don't need their blessing now I don't need their invitation Ain't no way to shut me down Or to take this path i've taken And maybe i've been left out Never let this be mistaken They can keep that blessing now Forget me now Cause I was never welcome [Verse 2] Yeah it's been a long road Never really know how it all unfold I'm just trying hard not to sell my soul When the rest want guns and a mouth full of gold I don't hate 'em I still love 'em That's not me I'm not judging Not be long Not a bum But disrespect me? Well them fuck 'em This a house i'm living in Ya'll just pass through visiting I draw these lines ya'll fill 'em in I'm a grown ass man Ya'll child-er-an No competition I'm killing them Talking 'bout a hitman Him and him Lets take it out for another spin again I don't give a fuck if I win again Cause [Chorus]
The thing I found interesting is that this is kinda the first time he's rapped and sung a verse/chorus back to back. His singing style also feels different to how he sings with LP, it reminds me of the way a rapper sings, rather than his usual style which is more akin to how a rock singer sings, if that makes any sense. Maybe that's just what I'm hearing though.
Eh not really feeling the song at all. Sounds like LIVING THINGS type production with subpar rapping on it. Hope this is just a throwaway track.
How on earth does that sound anything like Living Things? I think it's great. IMO the old FM stuff has not aged well and any return needed to take a different angle. This is it and I like it. By the way, for anyone unsure if there is a new album coming out - The letter didn't rule it out. I think that's still up in the air, I think Mike's testing the waters and seeing how this will go down. So show some love.
just a song for all this? http://store.linkinpark.com/fort-minor-mike-shinoda.html http://store.linkinpark.com/welcome-vinyl-presale.html naaaaaaaaah, it's impossible! I've put the repeat mode on my ipod and i'm eating this song out!
