    Mean!!

What a surprise today though. My friend is currently over at my place so I showed him all the touristy things so we went behind L'Arche de La Defense and what do we see there, yes yes, the Renaissance Hotel with the Argentina players outside. They're playing tonight against South-Africa, so that was nice to see. :)

It would have been nice to get a couple more goals seeing how quickly we went 3-0 up... I'm not going to write him off as an international just yet but Lescott was disappointing, then again it was his debut. Can't complain for the most part though.

Even though no one played well today, I think earlier results cost us more than anything.

Serbia scored 6 goals. That's great because we probably won't see that again in next ten years.

And England fucked me up. I could've won some money..

Gerrard doesn't know how to hold the ball and dictate the play. Barry couldn't keep hold of it either.

Having Gerrard who likes to drive forward from midfield, being played with Rooney who likes to drop deep is a conflict of interest. Seems to me that neither Gerrard or Lampard in center-midfield would be ideal with Rooney in the side. Maybe a decent manager could work it out.

    Cole--Hargreaves--Carrick--Gerrard

Could work. Despite what people say, Gerrard is too inconsistent to play in the middle of the park and has more of a free role on the right. That leaves Hargreaves winning the ball and Carrick dictating play, and neither of them drive forward through the center so that leaves space for Rooney in the 'hole'. Both of them are comfortable keeping possession, which is what England desperately need. Aswell as that, someone who can pass with a little imagination and creativity wouldn't go astray, and Carrick would bring that to the side.

Obviously I'm looking through Red-tinted spectacles, but I think it could genuinely work.

The back four was brilliant. Robinson needs to be dropped. Hold on to a fecking ball son.

thats true, but that means you're going to have drop Shaun Wright-Phillips or Aaron Lennon and that will also mean you're gonna upset the balance of the midfield since Gerrard still is essentially a central midfielder and lacks the flair and burst of pace that the two wingers can bring.

I'd still say Barry has done more to prove he can play at that level than Carrick. Carrick, as good as he has been for United and Spurs at times, has flattered to decieve whenever he's played for England, whereas in the past four games Barry has been England's best player in three of them and against Russia he could just as easily have gotten two assists and therefore won the match. But I would say that, in terms of both form for England and ability, Gerrard and Hargreaves would be the best with Joe Cole, and I'm not sure who on the right other than someone like Bentley or Young.

The defense didn't do too badly, but I'd say the second goal was just as much their fault as Robinson's. Robinson probably should be dropped for England and Spurs by now though because in the past year he's gone from being a generally decent goalkeeper whose handling sometimes let him down to almost completely accident-prone.

Yeah when that player pulled Ribery's shirt that should have been a penalty.
