After over two years of very well executed silence, details are finally starting to leak about the new Tomb Raider. With a new splash page at the Official Site, and a brand new article in PSM, it is clear that a new media explosion is about to occur any moment now. However, it seems that recentely someone got their paws on the "PSM Preview" in this month's issue and decided to share it with the world. Quoting from tombraiderchronicles.com: After some small research I was able to find decent quality scans of all 3 pages of this article. Being a long time fan of the series I must say that I was given chills looking at the new screens. This hasnt happened before, and I haven't been this excited for a new Tomb Raider game in a while (not even Angel of Darkness) and it's because it finally feels like they know what they're doing with this game. Everything I've wanted from the series is happening so far. They're aiming for more realistic graphics, 'prince of persia: sands of time/warrior within' type gameplay, more explorable environments and a new edge to the realism. Crystal Dynamics is aiming to completely get rid of the inventory system and instead have her inventory visible on the actual character model itself (i.e. binoculars, grenades on her..butt, etc.). I had my doubts before but with the now very explorable environments, original creater of TR1 on board, plus the more realistic approach, I think Crystal Dynamics getting the game is the best thing that could've ever happened. But you guys be the judge:
See it depends on opinion. Some people (like me) find it incredible looking, and others are like "Ehh...".
That ass is amazing. I'm sorry, I haven't played Tomb Raider since Playstation. That's really all I have to say.
I think the graphics are pretty good for being only in beta stage. Everyone else is more like..."Ehh". But then magazines (aka T.R.'s hardest critics, are psyched). Oh well, we all know graphics dont mean SHIT compared to gameplay so, we'll have to see.
I think a lot of us did, Paul. But you can blame that on Core Design and their absolutely shitty direction they took the game into. Realistically they should've only been 3-4 games into the series by now, with two (this one included) being on next generation software. One game per year is what led to the games being shitty, and buggy and..just not Tomb Raider.
oh, so they updated her image so more perverted middle aged men will buy the game? the tomb raider series should be dead. id rather play almost any game over this terrible series.. they should have stopped after the 2nd one.. honestly, who buys these games for the a.) storyline b.) gameplay or c.) both? honestly.. i dont get it..
That's exactly why I hate the series. Ever since they had Laura die and come back to life I lost it.
She should've stayed dead until Crystal Dynamics took over and started making this game right here. That's the only reason I think it could be excellent, Core's no longer in charge (Eidos gave them the boot) and instead the developers of the Legacy of Kain series (along with the original creator of TR1) are making this game. Lets hope they dont screw up where Core did.
That sparked a little interest in me.
Yeah nobody seems to know the LOK guys are making this.
Card game already exists, sir. It was made ehhh...back around Tomb Raider 3 or 4, was actually pretty nicely done. I believe it would be hilarious to see her stuffed in a little kart with a severe case of road rage though.

well Crash Bandicoot, Diddy Kong and Mario have all been turned into Kart games so why not Tomb Raider
