Not bad graphics. Looks quite cool. I don't like Pokemon anymore but that still looks pretty neat. I just think they've sold themselves out a bit with all their games. Meh
I love how they name it "XD" maybe they're grinning like that cause they love how people keep buying their sh*tty products year after year. No offense, but I dont get what the big deal was with Pokemon...EVER. For one, the show is easily the worst thing I've ever watched ("PIKACHUU DHAGDYDGSYGDYDG! ") and I always laughed at the kids who collected them in school. Infact, this junk was still being sold when I was around in 7th grade. So tell me why...over 5 years later..this crap is still being sold and hasn't disappeared into the black hole in which it came from? Sorry if I offended anyone. But the fact they're still doing pokemon crap is almost as funny as seeing a brand new version of a FURBY on store shelves the other day. Didn't they put those things down to 9 bucks because they didn't sell anymore? Sheesh.
I kind of agree with you Derek (see my last post). They really have dragged it out. I was a very big Pokemon fan at the time it first came out. I watched the series, i have many of the games and i still have all of my cards but i really think it's a bit 'out' now. I mean, this game looks pretty nice, but they seriously need to think about giving it up soon.
I mean I'll give you guys some slack and say that yeah when it first came out I thought "hey this is interesting" but its like an underground band. After it became mainstream it was just annoying..everywhere I went it was like "OMGZ DID U GET THE NEW MEW-TOO CARD?!". It just lost its punch. To see them dragging it out like this five years lately is like :|.
Derek, the games are some of the most amazing games ever created. Young kids just play the games to play them whereas older kids like me play the game for the strategy. They're not easy games for little kids to understand. They're more complex than most games out there. Just because the television show is aimed at kids doesn't mean the games are, too. They're aimed at the more mature audiences. That's why the games are getting more complex. This new game is going to be even more complex than most games out there right now.
I mean, sure, little kids will play the games and think they're awesome, but they'll never really grasp what the concept of the games truly is. There's a lot of strategy involved in battling the Pokemon and there's also the whole role-playing element. Little kids don't understand things like that, and the games have been getting progressively more complex in terms of strategy and things like that lately.
Well you can blame the anime for that. Apparentely the cartoon breaks so many 'rules' of the actual game, that it's laughable. Like a level 15 battling a level 22. Wouldn't the level 15 get pwned to death?
That's where the strategy comes in. Depending on what the elemental type of the level fifteen Pokémon is, it might be able to defeat the level 22 Pokémon. For example: Let's say that the level fifteen Pokémon is a Charmander, and that the level 22 Pokémon is an Ivysaur. Charmander is the elemental type "fire" and Ivysaur is the elemental type "grass." As long as Charmander has a high attack stat and a high defense stat, it would be able to defeat the Ivysaur. Charmander also has a higher speed stat than the Ivysaur, so it would attack first during each round. Also, because of the high speed stat and the high defense stat, the Charmander would be able to evade and dodge most of the Ivysaur's attacks. Granted, the Ivysaur would do more damage to the Charmander, but the Charmander would be able to wear the Ivysaur down to where it could be defeated. Now, if the level 22 Pokémon was the fire-type and the level fifteen Pokémon was the grass-type, then the level 22 Pokémon would win, hands-down. It's all a matter of picking the right Pokémon for the battle. Then again, there are also those battles where the elemental type doesn't matter, such as when you have a level 97 Mewtwo battling a level thirteen Magikarp.
