It looks good. Though I'm a bit concerned that launching it on PS2 (they're exclusives I assume?) so late in the console's run won't be such a good idea. I'd imagine by the time this game hits shelves, the PS3 will be out... That means PS2 won't get a lot of attention.

I expect to play it nonetheless, but I'd think they'd embrace next generation at this point. :p Can you imagine... Tomb Raider and the true power of next generation? That makes the video game nerd within giddy.

This is kinda like the last hurrah for the PS2 i think. And keep in mind they're doing PSP and PC too. PC will most likely have 'next gen mode' like Legend did.

    Looks great. :D I don't have a next-gen console (yet?) so I'll definetely buy it on PS2.

The question is, how well can another company remake a game that they never had a part in? That's the only concern with this remake right now.

Sure they'll probably enlist the help of Toby Gard again who created Lara Croft, but as to just how big of a part he'll play? Nobody knows.

Well, the game's pretty old so any company would be able to make it better. But of course, there's the question if it's going to be as good as games that are made right now.

Well when you have a game thats regailed as a classic, remaking it can be blasphemy. But they're 'retelling it' so there's a difference. It's not a direct remake, its more like a 'new version'.

    Oh, I didn't know that.

But now I do, I think that's a better thing to do than just remake the game. It gives the makers much more freedom and they could put a lot of extra stuff in it.

I want them to have a lot of backstory. Like one thing they never explained is why Lara was in South America (or was it New Mexico? *cant remember*) in the beginning of the game, when she met Natla and Larson. If we could learn a little about that it'd be great.

I'm pretty sure that statement is reserved for God of War II. The game looks good, though.

Psh, God of War is on a whole different level of its own... Don't compare them!

As for Derek's concerns: I'm sure if they stay true to the story and use the mechanics from Legends, it shouldn't be that much of a stretch from the original one... Or I would like to believe that'd be the case.

Anyone notice her new grapple on the right side? It's a rope and hook grapple now like in the intro FMV to Peru in TR1, as opposed to the old magnetic one from Legend.

Me thinks we can use her grapple anywhere now :D.
