Had some questions. So this is my first LP concert and I will be attending alone - is that a good idea (I'm a female)? What's the atmosphere like at the shows? I will be getting a ticket for the reserved section or the middle section in Philips Arena (which I am going to assume has seats and is not a standing area) so how early should I show up? I was planning on coming there at 5 since the show is starting at 7, is that good enough? What else should I know about attending this concert since this is technically the first mainstream concert I am attending and have never attended shows of this scale before (usually I would be dragged at this cultural shows with my parents and small college concerts)?
Congrats on your first show! If you have a reserved seat then there really isn't a good reason to show up early to the show, unless you just want to take in the crowd and the atmosphere. The arena might be fairly empty until later on. If you had a standing room ticket, then I would say to show up earlier so you can get a good seat. I would say eat in the CNN center before the show starts, food will be a lot cheaper there then inside Philips arena. You will be fine attending the show by yourself as long as you don't plan on getting super drunk and hitting on random strangers. The only thing you might want to consider being a female by yourself is that you might want to park as close as you can to the arena. Not that I think anything would happen, but the shorter your walk the less likely you may encounter anything (Note: It will probably cost at least 15, maybe 20 bucks to park right next to Philips arena). Hope this helps and enjoy your first show!
Actually it shouldn´t be a problem to attend the show alone, particularly since you have a ticket for the reserved section. You should drink enough, because it gets hot in those arenas very quickly. You will find other LP fans you can talk to right before the show or during, you´ll see that LP fans are very nice and open minded people (...at least the majority of them). And there is only one thing left you have to do: Enjoy the show and the atmosphere and have fun!
You should be okay, I think, especially if you aren't in a standing area. One thing you should bear in mind is that food and drinks and things can be relatively pretty expensive.
Thanks! Thanks to you all for the info! I don't feel apprehensive about coming over now! I plan to stick to fluids and no food or beer - it's only for a few hours and I don't want to pay a fortune for something I really don't need!
Hey Bintad88! Me and my friend went to the ATL concert this weekend! It was so amazing! I hope you had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was so intense! I teared up a couple of times because all the fans were so into it, I just lost it! haha! Where did you sit?! We were in section 109... pretty good seats! The opening acts werent that great! I wish we wouldve gotten there at like 8:45 instead of 6! haha!
OMG! I would do ANYTHING to have them play at my wedding!!! I dont even care which song! WFTE could be performed and I wouldnt care because they are performing it at my wedding!!!! hahahaha!
Hey sorry for the late reply! I had an amazing time! I lost my voice and my jaw was hurting like hell by the end of the show and it was all worth it. I liked the atmosphere there...well except for a few smart asses who were sitting around me complaining about the LP song selections. Maybe they should have gone to earlier concerts if they wanted to hear more of their previous songs, just saying. I was in section 117, bummer, I know. I should have bought my tickets earlier but instead I waited too long. I thought the opening bands were ok but truthfully never had heard of them before the show, although I did have a song on my iPod from the first opening band and didn't even realize it until they started to play it. lol I have made it a goal to attend as many live shows I can from now on!
