This is weird; I read off Apple.com that they were going to run Mac OSX on Intel Processors, but what's up with the photo of Windows XP running on an Apple 23-inch cinema display? Sorry, but I'm really confused, probably because I don't know shit about computers. Just wondering, are Intel already selling 3.6 Ghz processors?
The Apple computer in those photos is running an Intel Pentium 4 processor (I dunno the speed) and running OSX for Intel. Windows XP also runs on Intel processors, so they installed XP on their Mac. But don't let the Apple Cinema display fool you or anything...the cinema displays use a standard VGA connector and work fine on any PC.
From what I've heard from officials, You'll only be able to run an Apple OS on an Apple machine, if someone can prove me wrong, please do so. Unless Apple takes a severe turn for the worse and won't be able to make their own systems anymore, I don't think any version of OSX will be officially made for a PC. I'm sure someone will eventually hack it and make it available to PC users though.
The beauty of OSX and what makes it relativley problem free is the fact that Apple controls the hardware it's running on. There isn't an infinite number of configurations for Macs like their is for PCs. That allows Apple to develop and optomize OSX for a very small set of hardware configurations which is what makes it so great. Now, Apple is not going to make OSX run on any PC, that would be suicide as most of their profit is from selling hardware. However, with an illegal crack, I'm sure it can be done. Just don't expect OSX to run as well as it would on a Mac and certainly don't expect any form of support from Apple.
