There's one thing you have to remember: Firefox has a new version every night. A security exploit in Firefox could be fixed the day after it is found. MS releases patches for their bugs every now and then, nearly not as frequent as Firefox. I'd rather have 40 bugs fixed tomorrow than 10 bugs fixed in 4 months.

Also note that IE's tight integration with the operating system opens the door for more severe bugs that could completley fuck you over. Firefox isn't integrated like that, so most security exploits are nowhere near as severe.

AND. Microsoft always goes by 'the more bugs the worse'. They never rate anything by severity. If MS has one flaw that can let someone exploit your whole system, and FFX has 5 bugs that will make it crash, MS will try to say that IE is more secure than FFX.

Look guys, it's all pretty simple:

If you have a firewall and stay within safe, trustworthy sites, you should never have problems.

If you choose to venture elsewhere, expect trouble. It's just natural. The only problems I've ever had w/ IE was when I went looking for keygen and warez.

I like Firefox because of some of the features it has, like say Extensions. My favorite extension is the adblock, add that with the auto filterlist updater and you're good. You hardly see any Pill ads and other crap on webpages. Also Derek, it would have helped if you had a antispyware program like spybot or adaware or even M$ Antisyware.
