The Federal Court of Canada ruled Wednesday that Internet Service Providers can't be forced to turn over identities of suspected music swappers, throwing a roadblock in the path of the recording industry's efforts to crack down on the practice. more at Globe Technology party at Mark's house.
i don't know linkin parks personal stance on p2p mp3 swapping... i do know that sales are up, cd prices are way up, and bands like L.P. can only benefit from the publicity. Hearing even a decent encode of a many L.P. songs does no justice to the originals, but it's enough to want to hear the real thing, and buy the cd. In other news, the only hope for future music is file sharing, because god forbid we hear something other than what MTV or Clearchannel says we can like.
Linkin Park has no problem with downloading music, from what I read. I want to move to Canada, oh well. *puts his RIAA-immunity sweater on*
Yes it is... I think a lot of other Americans feel this way too. Too bad I'm stuck in California for at least 3½ more years... And that news is awesome... yay for the Federal Court of Canada!
i want to go to Canada i think that file sharing has very much to do with cd sales cause personally i wouldnt buy most of the music i download, i only get it cause its free and if i do hear somthing i like i will go and buy it anyway cause real cd's are way better quality. lucky for me i live in australia and i dont think theyve targeted here yet.
About a month ago there was crap on the news about it. I don't really know what it was about, but I was told to be careful with downloading.

[/b][/quote] i think there was somthing about them cracking down of kazza and how on kazza office was in sydney or somthing. I think they also can only fine you for redistibution of stolen goods so if you dont share anything you cant get caught.
lets all move to canada. canada rocks "we support free music. so go ahead! download that s*it" - mike
I'm glad that we finally did this, and I feel REALLY sorry for all you Americans. Come over anytime you like
Damn, Mark, why do you plan your parties so soon? I don't think Keaton could get here by tomorrow night
Mark, you don't prefer to fly over to the mainland? We could do an open house over here. Anyway, after a couple of beers we'll all speak the same language . Finally, a logic decision from the authority B) !
