Image Credit: instagram.com/jackcollin/ We're already at the end of the first run of the 2025 From Zero World Tour. But first, let's talk about Linkin Park's past in Monterrey! Back in 2012, Linkin Park played their second show in Mexico, and their first in Monterrey. This show was a banger all the way through, starting with A Place For My Head with its extended intro and outro. You just know the show will be good if that's the opening. This show was filmed by MTV for their Worldstage series. Sadly, no full recording of the show exists, but the video we have is a showcase of the band's strong form during the touring for LIVING THINGS. You can watch the full Worldstage special here below. MTV World Stage 2012 LPTV from 2012 documenting the band's Mexico shows. At the band's 2015 show in Monterrey, when the members returned from the encore and before launching into Crawling, Chester dedicated the rest of the show to Christopher, a fan who had attended the show in Mexico City two days earlier and sadly passed away on the day between the two shows. Video of that moment is below and our thoughts remain with Christopher’s family and friends. Sadly, since then we've all gotten way too familiar with losing members of the LP community (We miss you Chester, Sujana and Tony). Crawling with Chester's dedication to Christopher LPTV from 2015 documenting the band's two Mexico shows. Let's talk about the previous show in Guadalajara The band went with set B at this show, for this tour that means that "Keys to the Kingdom" takes the spot after the "Mike + Colin solo" instead of "Casualty". It seems like that spot in the setlist might be reserved for a song with the word "casualty" in the lyrics. "Lying From You" was in the rotation spot in the encore, replacing "A Place for My Head" and returning to the encore section of the setlist for the first time since 2013. The two rotation songs we've been missing so far on this tour that were in setlists in 2024 are "Points of Authority" and "LOST IN THE ECHO". Is it possible we will see a Set C for this show with those songs in it? What other Linkin Park song has the word "casualty" in its lyrics? What about "My December", "Friendly Fire" and "Breaking the Habit"? Will they return anytime soon? The band really nailed this one! After this show the band gets a few days off before heading out on another short three-date tour in Asia. Saitama, Japan, gets two shows on February 11 and 12 and then the band ends the tour in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 16th. This will be the bands first tour in Asia since 2015 when they played five shows in China. However, Mike did two runs in the region on his Post Traumatic tour in 2018 and 2019. With the advancement of technology making livestreaming easier than ever, fans at home have been able to watch shows on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, experiencing the show alongside those attending in person. While we're not asking our readers to livestream the show, if anyone reading this finds a stream or is streaming it themselves, let us know so we can watch along with you. If this is going to be a Set C (hopefully), I will be very interested to see what else is in those rotating spots with Casualty/KTTK and LFY/APFMH. I would hope "Points of Authority" makes it in there! That's my realistic wish, at least. If I really want to dream big, I want them to rotate in "Blackout" and "Easier to Run."
I hope they bring back POA as well. In fact, they should just drop casualty, two faced and lying from you and bring in Points of Authority, Blackout and Stained.
"Given Up" returns to rotate with "Casualty" and "Keys to the Kingdom," breaking the casualty theme. "From the Inside" is the third number in the "Lying from You" and "A Place for My Head" encore rotation slot. One we didn't hear last year! First time since the last show with Chester.
I loved it. ALSO: I'm feeling Em is going super easy and calm now. Her nerves have gone and she can easily sustain notes and vibratos, like in WFTE and OEO. Update: The quality of this one is superb https://www.reddit.com/r/LinkinPark/comments/1ij0sg2/from_the_inside_02052025/
Yup, Emily sounded amazing on FTI. That song makes me a bit nostalgic, always. Banger from the old days.
That scream she did at the end of "From The Inside" was sick! Emily will get even better at this song as they do it more
Probably the best recording of FTI I've seen. Again, what a performance. Good recordings of GTG and Overflow on the same channel. Man, feels like each performance of Overflow is getting better. The end has such a big dark industrial twist to it, love it.
