I'd be a little, slightly, disappointed if they played Invisible for LPU members, never to be shown (and probably told them no video recording as well as a condition or something, which means we won't see it on YouTube) as I've been an LPU member for a long time, but just don't live in and can't afford to constantly travel to LA...more than I already have... So it's like yeah, it's a perk to be an LPU member... asterisk, asterisk
I know right LOL. He thought I labelled all of Pink Floyd's music "soft rock" the other day.. so spammed the chat ranting to himself for an hour. The fuck man.. came back to this wall of text and laughed my ass off. P.S. Don't bring up Meteora around this guy
I'm sure whatever else was performed will be released somewhere later on (LPU video, bonus video with some retailer's edition of the album, etc.). Ethan Mates posted on Instagram that he was mixing the performance and the screenshot definitely wasn't from Heavy.
According to people who were there they also performed "Invisible" but not for TV. Hope social media had some clips soon.
Can confirm, LPU is totally worth it if you live in the LA area. I've gone to 2 previous TV performance tapings (both for Jimmy Kimmel for Minutes to Midnight and The Hunting Party), and they've always played much more than just the single at the time. I would have gone to this one but it was a Monday at 3pm, I couldn't call in sick or take the day off, too much work to do. I also got to listen to A Thousand Suns two weeks before it came out at Warner Bros, the band wasn't there but damn that a crazy experience.
It sounds better live than the actual recording. Whoever said it's very Living Things is right. It's almost like it should've been the last track on the album.
I don't know else to describe it but I think "Heavy" has the same kind of sonic punch as some of the "Living Things" songs do. It's heavy on sub-bass (relatively for LP) and has that firecracker quality in its arrangement and structure
Wow Kiiara is really akward on stage. It probably doesn't help that she has like 10 cm long heels on. Looks uncomfortable.
Its really a dud, really boring has no emotion. I prefer other soft LP songs such as My december, LOATR, TLTGYA, RU, SOTD, those have to be my favorite soft LP songs
Well, okay, but I wasn't talking about it in terms of songwriting, haha. On that note, though, I personally think that he vocals are emotive and I actually relate to the lyrics a little. Not in a punch-in-the-gut, "OMG, that's totally me!" kind of way - which basically no LP songs ever give me anyway - but more like "I know how that feels"
Those boots Did she really have to wear those? She made herself look like a giant and Chester like a dwarf. Anyway, good performance.
You will not see an audience recording of Invisible pop up, there are strict rules under these tapings to not have cellphones on. If they performed Invisible it will probably be released in some official capacity at one point.
Chester was really good on this. Kiiara was harder to hear but she killed the studio version. Overall, solid. Kiiara's boots though are....wow.
I wonder if those who've heard the other song will post their opinion of it somewhere. Are they allowed to?
