Probably not going to get many response for this thread, but what would be your favorite Movie Score/Soundtrack? Personally I think John Williams' score for Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Jurassic Park tie number one for me. Seriously some of the best movie scores ever written.
UPDATE: This thread can also apply to video game scores. Among those that I really like would be Halo Reach, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect (1,2 and 3)

That Red Riding Hood movie from a couple of years back I actually really enjoyed the soundtrack for. The movie itself was blah, but the soundtrack was surprisingly decent.

The ones from Indiana Jones and Back To The Future movies are probably my favorite. Not my favorite style of music, but they have that big classic vibe which is so freaking cool! :)

Back To The Future takes the cake as number one though.

As well as it might work alongside picture, a good soundtrack only becomes a favourite of mine when I find it to be really listenable on its own. Here are my top picks:

    • Cliff Martinez: "Contagion"
    • Clint Mansell: "Requiem For A Dream"
    • Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross: "The Social Network"

Another favorite score of mine would be the 2009 Star Trek. It's really the motif of the entire score that I love, I'm for some reason really drawn to it.

Any of the scores from the Star Wars movies, along with Shinoda's score for The Raid. Inception's score was fucking awesome as well.

Daft Punk's work on Tron: Legacy
    The Lord of the Rings
    Pirates of the Caribbean

These stand in my memory since I recently watched them. Good thread idea.

The Social Network score is by far my favourite. The ultimate paper-writing, studying, getting work done music.

Also, some tunes from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are fucking out of the world. Just listen to "Window to the Past".

Clint Mansell's The Fountain score is some of the most beautiful pieces of music ever composed. Reznor's Social Network is the best one in recent memory.

Everything from Hans Zimmer. The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and The Lion King stand out, amongst others, for me.
