Being an avid fan of fine arts, I have a deep passion for both movies and music, so I absolutely must have an epic score if the movie is epic to me. I'm just wondering, but what are your guys' favorite movie music composers? My top 3 is easily Steve Jablonsky, Hans Zimmer, and Michael Giacchino.
Yeah I'm not real big on names, but I think my favourite one must be the guy who did the Lord of the Rings. Even though I'm not a big fan of the movie, I do enjoy the soundtrack quite a lot.
Current fave: Steve Jablonsky, for his work on the Transformers films and the Gears of War franchise - epic stuff
Harry Gregson-Williams Nigel Godrich (Only scored one film so far but he should definitely work on more if the chance arises) Vangelis (The music in Blade Runner, omfg) Not that I'm disagreeing with anyone, I just figured I'd post a couple that haven't been mentioned yet.
like mentioned, john Williams and Hans Zimmer are two of the absolute best. My personally favorite is Danny Elfman. Tim Burton's musical maestro and mastermind behind the original Batman theme music & of course the Simpson's theme tune.
Bruce Almighty: Ive got the Power --Snap! Transformers 2: New Divide--LP those 2 are the only songs i remember from memory**
As overused as Lux Aeterna is, the music in Requiem For A Dream MADE that film imo. The Fountain is easily my favourite score by him though.
Clint Mansell is fucking awesome, love his work for Requiem for a Dream. Hans Zimmer is another legend.
