I know there are a few fans of Falling Up on LPA but for those of you who don't know them I strongly advise you check them out. Their style is a combination of Synth-Rock, Alternative, Punk-Rock, Electronica and Hip-Hop style beats and have often been compared to the likes of Linkin Park, The Ataris, Incubus and POD. The band are widely regarded as Christian rock as several songs they have produced preach strong Christian ethics. This is most evident in their first album Crashings. However over time they have drifted away from the religious aspects of the band. As a result, they are beginning to gain alot more recognition. The album that they released this year, titled Captiva, is one of the best albums I've ever heard and I strongly recommend it to everyone. It's filled with powerful ballads and a fantastic mixture of experiemental styles. The religious aspect has been toned down significantly and is only noticable in a few songs (however the songs that Falling Up have released which contain religious elements are still good nonetheless). Check out their myspace page to hear some of the songs off Captiva: Falling Up Myspace page I recommend all of their albums, however these songs in particular are worth downloading: The Islander Broken Heart A Guide To Marine Life Maps Helicopters Captiva Murexa New Hope Generation Places Jacksonfive Arafax Deep Exit Calypsan (Only In My Dreams) Ambience Moonlight Searchlights Goodnight Gravity
AWESOME BAND. I recommend: How They Made Cameras Bittersweet Symmetry Jackson 5 Exhibition Flights The Islander
Ah I remember a thread about these guys ages back. Liked them at the time, but I can't stand to listen to them now.
I was lucky enough to help them pack up after a show once. Got a free poster signed from the guys, and I got their e-mails. That was a few years ago.. they're pretty good. They were with subseven and Project 86. subseven was the best.
Yeah, lol, they asked for my e-mail when I showed them their houses on the old satellite imaging thing. It was like 3-4 years ago, so it was before Google maps and not many people had seen it yet, so they were really into it. Thought it was pretty neat. I still have the signed poster in my room.
A similar thing akin to your story happened to me with No Motiv. Anyway, I love Falling Up. There isn't one song by them I don't like. Great band.
