Hey guys which version of My Immortal is the one with the kick a$$ guitar solo? is it like only for the radio or like what?
I think it's the Radio Version, because on the CD it's just piano, and also in the Tab book it says that there isn't any guitar in it.
yeah it's like the "rock version." You can supposedly download it from the website if you have the CD, but that didn't work for me. You can also find it on Kazaa, Gluz, etc.
The thing is is that you need a US version of Fallen in order to do it. That's the one thing I hate about Wind-Up: The fact that they alienate fans from countries other than the US.
Huh, well when I got the band version, I dled it from their site, and I didn't need the fallen CD, they must have changed that. Strange.
Here's the instructions to get the band version (from evanescence.com): 1. Download CD Checker installer here to get started. 2. Run the installer. It will install the Evanescence CD Checker and place an icon on your desktop. 3. Double-click the CD Checker icon on your desktop to start the program. 4. With CD Checker running, insert your copy of FALLEN in your computer's CD or DVD drive. You will be taken to a page where you can download your own copy of "My Immortal (Band Version)" 5. Download the new song -- it's yours to enjoy! ----------- I tried that when the checker first came out, and it didn't work because I had a CDN version of Fallen. Well, in any case, can you lead me to a page where I can download the song directly?
Actually, the version of "My Immotal" on Fallen is actually the 'demo,' or so I've heard. Supposedly Wind-Up didn't want to use the band version because they felt it didn't fit in or something. But when it came time to release it, Evanescence was able to convince Wind-Up to let them use the band version (or I assume the one that was supposed to be on the CD). I don't know the actual story. Will should .
The original version that was going to appear on Fallen appeared on a bootleg(ish) CD called Mystary. That version had a better orchestra, and did not include the band. The Band Version evolved from their live performance of the song.
The so called "video version" of "My Immortal" (with the guitars) is actually the version that the band recorded while tracking Fallen. Wind-Up liked the demo more, so they just added strings and threw it onto the album. The version that's on Fallen is the same version that's on Origin, but it just has strings.
I hate when studios change songs because it misrepresents an album. The Neptunes had done a remix that was never even on the client's album, only the original. Same thing with the 'One Step Closer' Rock Remix. In this case, I really like the guitar riff, it accents the end of an otherwise repetitive song. Too bad it's not the version on the cd. (Just my opinion of course).
I agree. It's a good song, but it's a bit repetitive. It's definitely one of my least favorite songs.
Thanks for playing Will, but you lose. The Band Version was recorded after Fallen was released. Like I said earlier, the version that was meant to be on Fallen was on Mystary.
