I disagree with your disagreement of the disagreement. Anyways, I used to like Evanescence, but this album does nothing for me. Seems like a pretty mixed reaction from most fans I've talked to (other than here), too. I'd say the slight majority feels that Fallen was better, but that's to be expected I think. It's alright.
I'm getting it for myself right now. I wish it would hurry up, you people have me excited to hear the rest of it, I haven't heard very much.
It wasn't really meant to be a disagreement. I was trying to be funny, like Derek. It just went on a few posts too long. Edit— "Lacrymosa" is based on Mozart's "Lacrimosa," the final (and unfinished) movement of his Requiem.
Well i heard its a good albulm and im thinking of buying it so what do u guys think? buy it or download only some of the tracks. If u say download then what 1s?
Well, it really depends on you. I'd suggest downloading a track or two and if you like those tracks, buy the CD. If you take my advice, download "Sweet Sacrifice" and "Cloud Nine"
I cannot understand anyone who says Fallen is better than this album. Fallen stands as commercialized drivel compared to this masterpiece of an album. Honestly, its one of the best albums I've heard in years. It's honestly that good. Cloud Nine's atmosphere is incredible.
Can't get into the album at all really, Evanescence don't do anything for me anymore. It's technically a good album, but it's just not my thing.
This CD is alright. I will agree with ECU, it's a little dull. I pretty much liked all of Fallen, only 3 or 4 on this one it seems.
'Fallen' IS better. Once you get over the one week high of finally hearing the album, you'll probably come to that realization as well. That's not to say this album isn't good. It's very good. But it doesn't measure up to 'Fallen', in mine and many other fans' opinions.
Wow I don't know if I outgrew Evanescence or what, but the new cd is just boring me so far. Maybe it's a grower.
Many other fans also say that it's better than Fallen. It goes both ways. I still have it playing over and over again in my car and it's not getting any worse to me. I think the lack of over-emotional songs like "My Immortal" is a good thing and there is a lot more development in this CD.
Nothing gives me the chills that some of the songs on 'Fallen' give me. To me, it lacks those one or two songs that leave me with goosebumps. I believe that comes two months from now, alot of people may realize this as well. It happened with Nine Inch Nails' 'With Teeth', and 'Meteora'. Maybe so, maybe not.
Couldn't agree more. I'm not trying to bash anyone here, but I hate it when fans of a particular band always say their latest CD is the best thing since sliced bread only to change their mind a month later. I'm not even saying anyone here is doing it, I'm just saying, in general, it happens a lot, and I believe this is a case of that.
I really like it. I'm not saying it's their best, because personally I think some of the best stuff they did were the demos and Origin.
I like the fact that the album is darker and therefore has less of a pop appeal. I also like some of the things they did with album musically. I don't like the lyrics as much as Fallen, but it's so goddamn catchy musically. I think I'm still in my "high" of the album, as Mark described, however, I think that over time, my opinion will remain the same.
