Why instigate shit? Honestly, you stated your opinion once...and everything was fine. It's obvious you're trying to start something.
I guess the point he may have wanted to make with you is that you already came in the thread and explained why you disliked it. That's fine. You then came back into the thread and flat out said it sucks. We know you dislike it so there was no need for another post stating that you think it sucks. It's no biggie (imo), but we get your point so you can stop now.
Well I've listened to it two more times, and still really haven't changed my opinion. I know that sophomore albums are sometimes tricky. A lot of big LP fans really didn't like Meteora when it first came out. I think when a band has a huge success with its first record, its fanbase is looking for more of the same with the second record. Hopefully Evanescence's fanbase will really get behind this album. We'll see.
I think the lyrics are more heartfelt on this ECU. I thought Fallen's lyrics to kinda be cliche goth-rock. With this, Amy took a more personal approach and imho the lyrics/metaphors are way better.
This is true. Amy claims that Ben Moody always wanted to take Evanescence in a commercial direction and it's pretty easy to see that. This album, to me, is much more of Amy being Amy and less of trying to get their album sold.
I've listened to it about 10 times and I like it more each time. It's a different sound. I do feel it's lacking that one really heartfelt song ("My Immortal"), but overall it's a very solid album. I like "Lithium" the best.
Here's something to surprise you guys...DJ Lethal did the samples on this record. Yup. Evanescence apparently has a DJ now .
Just hopefully he doesn't tell evanescence that it's his way or the highway and he came to get up, and he came to get down, and that they should all get up their seats and jump around (jump around).
Which song has a line that says 'take my darkest secrets and turn into a lullaby' or something similar like that.. I canny find it anymore
