According to an article on MTV.com, Ben Moody’s departure from Evanescence appears to be permanent. On October 24th, while on their first world-tour, Moody left the band high and dry in Berlin, Germany, without so much as a good-bye. No one in the band has had any contact with him, and thus none of them know what’s going on with him. Amy Lee claims she hasn’t had any contact with Moody at all, but she says she hears he’s “way happier, and I know we all are, so it’s for the best.” Apparently, there was some heat between members of the band and Moody. “It was just kind of an unhealthy situation for everybody. Everyone was really unhappy. I think it was just time to evolve,” said Lee as she walked the red carpet at the AMAs. Lee said that Cold’s guitarist Terry Balsamo, who performed with them at the ceremony, will replace Moody until at least February. Balsamo will join the band on a North American tour through mid-December and on stints through Australia and Japan in January. He may even stick around when writing for the next Evanescence album begins. Another contender for the guitarist position is Seether singer/lead guitarist Shaun Morgan, who attended the AMAs with Lee. Apparently, the two have been dating for 7 months, so the rumors of the two possibly getting married may very well be true. Moody attended Kid Rock’s after-party, but refused to do interviews.
NOOO!! Come back Ben!! Damn I might be going to their concert in Toronto but I dont know if i want to go if he's not going to be there... meh I'll go cuz I still love Evanescence
I hope the guy from Cold or Seether don't leave their bands to join Evanesence just because their more popular. :argh:
Cold's taking a break for a while. They're not breaking up or on hiatus, thye're just enjoying time with their families. I think Scooter's writing new material too.
WTF @ getting married after 7 months. And wow, as much as Ben creeped me out, I never wanted him to leave.
What's wrong with guys wearing eyeliner? And on topic...I guess it probably is for the best. It does seem odd how smooth this is though, since Amy and Ben have been friends for so long...Hell, aside from the cancelled shows it seems almost planned
This may be old news, but apparently Ben is now with Avril Lavigne, and hes helping her write tracks for her new cd. No lie. Also, the band now has Terry Balsamo from Cold writing guitar for their next album. Amy has also been quoted saying:
Well, Avril has stated in several interviews that she wanted her new album to be more hard rock and have a lot less of that pop crap in it, so I think working with Ben on the new album is probably a very good choice, in my opinion.
