I am a very big fan of eminem So with the first two singles being released from this album being We Made You and 3A.M (which i cant stop listening to) as anyone else excited for this album it drops May 15th and May 19th in the U.S
I am excited! I was disappointed by both the singles when I first heard em but with a few repeats, they really grew on me. Especially 3 AM.
I'm not looking forward to this. At all. Hated Crack A Bottle, liked We Made You, 3AM was corny, Old Times Sake was terrible. He keeps using the lame fake accent he used on Encore, which I can't stand. I can see this new album sucking horribly, which is a shame, because I actually wanted to enjoy new Eminem.
I like both songs although I do prefer 3am (I find his new accent less fitting We made You). Really looking forward to these albums. Does it come out May 15th in Europe?
I was really looking forward to it, but out of all the leaked songs, the only one I can stand is Old Times Sake. His new accent is terrible.
The album is terrible. Except for Beautiful. Great song. Like a night and day difference. It almost makes up for how God awful the other 19 tracks are. Almost...
you obviously don't know anything about hip hop, lyricism, wordplay, rhyme schemes, production, etc. the album is fire. and the majority of the people on hip hop forums/websites agree. I suggest you give it another listen before you discredit all the songs.
I've listened to it all night. It blows. The majority of the people of hip hop forums/websites loved Encore too. And please, don't do the condescending "Well you just don't know hip hop" come back, you come across as a complete tool.
Not critically. Reviewers loved the album and hailed it as the spiritual successor of The Slim Shady LP. Not counting user-rated weighed sites like Sputnik, I never saw Encore get anything lower than a 3 1/2.
Since when were critics and star ratings the bench-weight for what the hip hop community thinks is fire? Oh, yeah. Never.
And HipHopDX is just another one of the millions of websites out there that constantly sucks off rappers like Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli and Common. They also gave Jamie Foxx's first album a good review, and Ne-Yo got 4 stars.
And I shouldn't believe the websites Dissociative are talking about aren't sucking Eminem why? I'm not hating what is obviously a great album for the sake of just saying Eminem sucks. I wanted to like it. It was just really shitty.
First off that statement FAILS. ^ Secondly, This Album is lightyears away from any other recent rap album. Its fresh, its witty, the production is amazing. No other rapper can touch his FLOW on songs like Stay Wide Awake, Underground, and Medicine Ball. I know you were looking for a Flo-rida/Lil Wayne/Tpain type album, but Cmon. to go as far as to say this album is garbage is reprehensible.
I'm more than half way through the album. Initial reaction: definitely better than Encore. Sounds like a solid album.
The album is garbage. Me saying that upsets you so much why? And I really don't know why because me saying that automatically makes you think "Oh you just wanted pop rap but this is THAT SICK FIE-AH!". Maybe I wanted, I don't know, a good Eminem album? Like he did those 3 other times? Like that? Remember those? So sorry I can't be a dickrider and sit there and say nothing but things like "OMG, THE FLOW!" and admire the production on My Mom and Bagpipes from Baghdad. I guess clearly I don't know the good rap.
I listened to the first half earlier and I'm not completely sure what to think so far. Some of the production and beats are great and it's a godsend that he doesn't put on that voice for the whole album. The vocals aren't bad but lyrically practically everything I heard is a retread of something he's rapped about before. Hating his mother, drugs and booze, murders/kidnaps that involve cars in some way, taking random swipes at celebrities... the only thing missing was a track specifically about Kim and/or Hayley. It's not terrible but if it wasn't for the standards of the production at times I probably wouldn't care for it much. Maybe further listens (and indeed listening to all of it) will change my mind but from what I heard it's basically Eminem by numbers.
