The video for The Monster gave me a new appreciation for the song. On a side note, loved the Inception nod when they recreated a bunch of his music videos.
Whaaat? It's a nice pop song, one of his least-explicit ever, and he tries to recreate My Name Is. How does that make sense? Okay, mentioning a straight jacket... and what else?
The song is about his career, and that he accepts that he'll always be crazy as long as he's still in the game and that he's okay with that; that he's still friends with The Monster: his career. "My Name Is" is part of him, is it not? The same goes for everything else in the video; "Lose Yourself" and 8-Mile, "The Way I Am", his iconic and historical Grammy performance of "Stan" with Elton John and last but not least Slim Shady himself, are all part of him. Both the song and the video are a reflection on his music career. Of course the video fits the song!
Solid effort by Eminem. I liked this album more than any of his since Curtain Call
He has Aspergers so I do believe he is talking about his mental issues and dealing with fame and still being the same weirdo as before.
I agree with rocky I think the song is about being crazy
Shady's a sperg? Where's the proof?
He mentions it in Wicked Ways, but Legacy and Brainless be mad aspie
No, he doesn't have Aspergers.
Still don't think the video fits the song, guise.
Don't wanna argue with you 'cause I know I'll lose, yet you still won't change my opinion.
Maybe the lyrics don't fit the song then. Best I can explain.
You don't even understand the lyrics bro. Do people call you Failip?
Im an Aspie by the way
Well, I know they will from now on. Congrats, you're now it that little text below my name.
This post made my year!
(Rigby is my waifu btw)
I think he's just emphasizing his "craziness", but then again he could have a real mental problem; he just hasn't told the public in a formal way, outside lyrics. In context of "The Monster", though, he only briefly mentions OCD, but as a result of the music industry; not that he was born with it.
Are you trying to say that the video doesn't fit the music of the song? Because that would make more sense, since music-wise, "The Monster" is a upbeat song, while the music video is dark. Is this what you meant?
Then be jealous of my hat.
Was just reading his Rolling Stone interview today. He diagnosed himself with OCD, xD.
Diagnosed himself with OCD.
