Hoping it's pretty good, I loved Recovery (which apparently isn't too popular now?), but haven't really liked any of the newer shit he's been on. Though to be fair have just been a handful of collaborations and that Symphony in H thing.
Its gonna habe (well rumored to have) a Kendrick feature so features will be on point this time. The album is gonna be awesome! Hopefully..... anyways
Nah, Kendrick said they haven't recorded anything, but that a collab will happen in the future for sure.
@Blackee - Nah, Recovery gets hate from the hardcore Stans for being to poppy. Mostly production. I definitly think both Recovery and H:TS are some of his best work. That's why I'm excited for this.
Anyways, new music in a week! Yay!
Updated OP with a confirmation of the show. One week.
I'm pretty much done with his music but I'll still peep it just because it's Eminem. Not expecting anything great at all tbh.
I hope we get a single within these next 2 weeks.
Apparently August 7 is possible.
Eminem is set to make his return this fall. The hip-hop icon kicks off his upcoming album by debuting his new song “Survival” in the explosive trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
“Wasn’t ready to be a millionaire/ I was ill prepared/ I was prepared to be ill though, the skill was there,” he raps on the rap-rock anthem.
A female voice can also be heard on the empowering hook: “This is survival of the fittest/ This is do or die.”
During a press conference on Wednesday, an Activision exec announced that the song is the first release off Em’s upcoming album, due this fall.
Eminem also appeared via a videotaped message. “The song’s about fighting back and it seems like it fits Ghosts perfectly,” said Em. “I’m gonna be a big part of the game. My new song’s in it, got a video dropping for it soon too.”
Another shit song from someone who was good many moons ago. He dropped that stupid accent but picked up the fucking annoying screaming. Sigh.
Is making cheesy inspirational/battle songs his new gimmick now then?
^ Yeah looks like it. What a waste.
That was bad...
He's to focused on fame and promotion, Hip Hop needs to come from the Heart...
Another One Bites The Dust...
Not liking it. It's not bad in any way, just so routine and samey from everything else he's done lately just that I just don't care. I gave it a break at first because I thought it was just some shitty Cawadoody tie-in, but now I'm seeing it's actually on his album so i'm not too psyched about that.
That girl is Skylar Grey btw.
Nope. U wot Filip.
Not a bad song, but as it's been said before here, nothing groundbreaking at all. Sounds like something I'd hear off Recovery as well. The hook sounds exceptionally bland, Em's screaming his ass off once again (what are you even mad about, man?). It just doesn't sound "fun" anymore. Sad.
I hope the rest of the album sounds more exciting than this, but I'm not gonna fool myself and think that will happen. If the album does have tracks that excite me and that sound like he's having fun (a.k.a. no obligatory scream rapping w/e), then I'll be very happy to be proven wrong.
This song is similar to most of Recovery. Which is something I certainly don't mind. It's like Won't Back Down II. And WBD is one of my favorite, if not THE favorite Eminem song. Unlike most, I love the screaming, I love the anger (even though he has nothing to be mad about tbh) so this song is perfect for me. It's a great pump up song and will work great for a game, and I definitely don't mind having this on his album. Definitely poppy but I don't care. Call me a stan but I enjoy this a lot.
Eminem isn't back...
he isn't his old self...
this is good, but not great...
it was written for COD...
it is still on the album
another one victimized by fame...
btw. The girl is Liz Rodriguez, not Skylar Grey.
Yea not looking forward to anything else from him.
