Only two days after the 2004 Election, news has surfaced that Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Source: AIM Today This is truly some sad news. Even though I for my own reasons, supported President Bush, it's never a pleasant thing to hear that someone has cancer. I find it noble that even while suspecting she had cancer, she continued to campaign alongside her husband until Kerry conceded on November 3rd. It's a good thing; however, that she discovered the cancer before it was too late. Hopefully with the advances in medical technology and the like, she can pull through this and make a speedy recovery. I give my best wishes to the Edwards' family and hope they can find strength through this difficult time.
poor thing. :'( what a bad week they are having, the Edwards'. first they lose, then they get cancer. and yes it was noble of her to keep campaigning untill the end. i sincerly hope that she makes a full recovery and that they caught it it time.
Agreed. As a Senator's wife though, it's safe to say she will get the best of the best as far as doctors and treatment go though.
very true, but that doesn't change the fact that it is an incredibly tramatic thing to have to go through, there is always a possibility of death, or a brast may have to be removed, as well.
Of course. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. It must be a horrible thing to go through for anyone, but imagine having to go through breast cancer (or any kind of cancer, really) if you couldn't afford health insurance? Elizabeth Edwards will get the best of the best, but there are a lot of people who don't.
