For those of you who consider yourselves "gamers", you would know that E3 had started this week. For those of you who don't E3 stands for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. It's a gathering of all sorts where companies unite to show off their products, make press announcements on their games, and share goodies for all of the world to behold.

    ------------------------------------------------------

The first 2 videos are from Half-Life 2, a sequel to one of the best first-person-shooter games on the PC. The video itself was cut into two, because of bandwidth and download consumption. (You need the DivX codec to play these videos)

This first video shows clips of the Half-Life 2 in single player mode:

The second is the same concept, but with an ending that shows off Counter-Strike on the new HL2 engine.
    http://nicolasr.nerim.net/hl2b.avi

    ------------------------------------------------------

This next video is from my favorite RPG of all time: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. A completely new story set after FFVII's ending, a few years after.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Here is a video from Sony's new FPS KillZone, a rival FPS to Halo and Halo 2, apparently. It should take about 6 minutes to download on standard broadband,
    KillZone E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Full Spectrum Warrior, a new squad-based strategy game coming from the US Army finally unveiled a trailer after keeping hush-hush about the game for a full year.
    Full Spectrum Warrior E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

A newly announced Metal Gear game has jumped out of shadows and released a video at E3 2004.
    Metal Gear: Acid E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Blizzard's first attempt at making a stealth/action game, Starcraft: Ghost finally turned off it's camoflouge and dropped this video into the E3 mailbox.
    Starcraft: Ghost E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Probably the best RPG to hit the XBOX, and the first Star Wars game I've actually liked in a long time, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has set out a sequel. Although, the original developers BioWare are not creating the second game, a new face has shined their face on the project. Promising not to change the game, Obsidian will try to recreate the original gameplay that BioWare gave birth to.
Star Wars: KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Here is another XBOX RPG I'm going to keep my eyes on, Fable. Microsoft Publishing Studios are helping Big Blue Box release this absolutely beautiful new game, and so far looks promising in the screenshots, descriptions and videos. I have for you 2 different E3 videos from Fable.
    Fable E3 2004: 1
    Fable E3 2004: 2

I'll have more on the way.

    I hope you're ready for more. :)

Of course, there's another Star Wars action-battle game on the horizon, decently labeled Star Wars: Battlefront. In this game, you can take on the roles of all types of troops: ranging from Imperial Guard, Rebel syndicate, the Royal Naboo, the Clone Army and other opposition.
    Star Wars: Battlefront E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Another Star Wars game grasping the title: Republic Commando was also announced by Luca Arts. It is a squad-based shooter (one of the best looking by Lucas Arts).
Star Wars: Republic Commando E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Where would you be without an Electronic Arts World War II game? EA will be released a sequel to Battlefield: 1942 (not an expansion pack) in the future. Here are 3 videos from the game:
    Battlefield 1942 2 E3 2004 - 1
    Battlefield 1942 2 E3 2004 -2
    Battlefield 1942 2 E3 2004 - 3

    ------------------------------------------------------

Devil May Cry, one of the best action games on the PS2 is dropping a 3rd sequel to your local Wal-Mart. Devil May Cry 3 pulls you into Dante's shoes once again for more zombie-slicing and shooting carnage. Not to mention a great song in the background.
    Devil May Cry 3 E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Nintendo drops into the sequel-circle with 2 new Mario titles, one on their new handheld Game Boy: DS and another on the GameCube.

Well, a lot of the games that I was going to post were already shown by Hybrid Soldier, so I'll dig up some new.

Nintendo announces even more Mario games.

    Paper Mario E3 2004
Mario vs. Donkey Kong E3 2004
    Mario Golf: Advance E3 2004

    ------------------------------------------------------

Samus, Metroid Prime's super-scanner chick, will be coming out with the GameCube's second installment of the Metroid series: Metroid Prime: Echoes.

    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

    ------------------------------------------------------

Capcom is releasing a 4th Resident Evil game, with no main title confirmed other that "Resident Evil 4." In the shoes of Leon, one of the original S.T.A.R.S team members from the first installment, taking on a mercenary mission to save the President's daughter from some unlikely foes.

    ------------------------------------------------------

That's all for tonight, I'll keep you guys posted on more E3 status.

Great videos can be found here. You have to register for a free account and download something, but there's no spyware.

Gamer's Hell also has a number of good ones and it's free -- no joining required (or downloading a program so you can get the movies).

Splinter Cell 3 also has a movie on IGN.com that you can download.

    Favorite movies:
    Splinter Cell 3
    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
    Pariah
    F.E.A.R.
    Shadow Ops: Red Mercury
Lord Of The Rings: The Battle For Middle-Earth (and I'm not even a LOTR fan!)
Ghost Recon 2 (even if it doesn't look as good as the first :()
Battlefield 2 (didn't like the first two in the series, but this looks amazing)
    Shellshock: Nam '67

The Unreal III engine is also looking spectacular.

The ones I thought best were the ones listed, but out of all of them my favorites would be:

    1.) Half-Life 2
    2.) The Legend of Zelda
    3.) Fable
    4.) Jade Empire
    5.) Halo 2
    6.) Star Wars: Republic Commando
    7.) Full Spectrum Warrior
    8.) Metroid Prime: Echos

Plus i have had this comp for 2 years, time to put it the pasture.

512? That's a baby, go for the dual-stick Kingston Gb of RAM. I think Half-Life 2, Halo 2, and Doom III will be the best sellers this year, therefore I think XBOX is going to own the show followed closely by GameCube. Sony didn't have much to show from what I saw.
